2019-20 NCAA DI Rankings

141 Nick of Time Lee

In one of the most anticipated matchups of the season, Nick Lee left no doubt about who the #1 wrestler at 141-pound should be after his victory over Luke Pletcher in the Bryce Jordan Center.

The decision to move Lee ahead of Pletcher was clear and straight forward. Things were quite a bit murkier further down the list. #11, 12 & 13 all took upset losses, as Tariq Wilson fell to Mitch Moore, Zach Sherman lost to Noah Baughman, and Dylan Duncan was defeated by Parker Filius. Previously this season, Sherman defeated Duncan, and Wilson defeated Sherman, so the trio will all move together as a cohort in the same order. We decided to move them down two notches, as Michael Blockhus as a win over Wilson and Dresden Simon has a win over Blockhus, however, your mileage may vary. Everyone in this section of the rankings has losses to lower-ranked wrestlers and wins over higher-ranked competitors so there are no obvious solutions.

Additionally, Mitch Moore gets a boost for his win, to just below Shakur Laney, who has defeated Moore this season. Parker Filius sneaks into the top 25 at #25. Filius has losses to unranked Sal Profaci and Alec McKenna, but that was over a month ago, and his win over Duncan and a previous win over Laney was enough to snag the final spot.

Noah Baughman is right on the cusp of a ranking, but a loss to Dan Moran and a lack of additional ranked wins keep him on the outside looking in.

Finally, Grant Leeth was not included in the latest Coaches' Poll and has not competed since January 25, as such, he has been removed from the rankings.
