Since taking 5th at World’s, two-time Russian nationals champion Anzor Khizriev won the Yarygin by beating 3x World/Olympic champ #1 (INT) Taha Akgul (TUR) in the finals and Khizriev then went on to take bronze at the European championships to lock up the top spot. His brother Zelimkhan takes the #2 spot after taking bronze at the Yarygin with a win over world runner-up #12 (INT) Zhiwei Deng (CHN) plus past wins over #3 Pavel Krivtsov and #9 Magomedamin Dibirov. Pavel Krivtsov takes the #3 spot after a runner-up finish at the Ali Aliyev to #2 (97) Vladislav Baitsaev (RUS) where he beat #4 Alan Khugaev (RUS) along with past wins over#6 Huseynov and #8 Tsyzhipov . Khugaev is in at #4 off the strength of past wins over #1 Anzor Khizriev and #6 Baldan Tsyzhipov along with his two Yarygin titles. Nurasulov is in for medaling back to back at Russian Nationals and a win over #3 Krivtsov.  

While having not medaled at any major international or domestic tourneys, #6 Magomedkamil Huseynov has wins over #2 Zelimkhan Khizriev, #3 (97) Shamil Musaev, #4 (97) Rasul Magomedov, and #5 Magomedgadzhi Nurasulov at the Magomed Ibragimov All heavyweight tournament in the past two years. Said Gamidov is at #7 after winning bronze at Russian nationals and gold at U-23 worlds.
