Alikhan Zhabrailov locks up the top spot having notched wins over #2 Kurbanov, #3 Tsakulov, and  #4 Urishev. #2 Magomed Kurbanov’s made serious jumps since failing to place at Russian nationals, taking bronze at the Intercontinental cup, silver at the Alans and winning the Yarygin in January but faltered and took international losses at the World Cup and European championships, but still having wins over #1 Zhabrailov, #3 Tsakulov, #4 Urishev he takes the #1 spot. #3 Batyrbek Tsakulov is the returning national champ and world rep and is coming off taking bronze at the Ali Aliev, he has wins over #4 Urishev, and #7 Sotiev plus wins over world medalists #7 (INT) Dato Marsagishvili (GEO) and #5 (97 INT) Aslanbek Alborov (AZE). Russian National runner-up Anzor Urishev takes the #4 spot and won the Alans over #2 Kurbanov in December and is coming off a bronze medal finish at the Ali Aliev where he lost to #1 Zhabrailov. Akhmed Bataev (RUS) takes the #5 spot as the 2x Intercontinental Cup champ has notched wins over #4 (97) Rasul Magomedov, #6 Alan Bagaev, and #8 Tazhudin Mukhtarov. Alan Bagaev is #6 after beating U-23 world runner-up #7 Aslanbek Sotiev in the Junior Russian National finals. 2018 97 KG Intercontinental Cup runner-up Tazhudin Mukhtarov (RUS) is in at #8 off of the strength of a win over #4 (97) Rasul Magomedov.
