Chakaev avenged a loss from the 2017 Russian Nationals semifinals to Rashidov, by beating the two-time world runner-up in the semifinals of the Yarygin to look up the top spot. #3 Naachin Kuular avenged a loss to #4 Kurban Shiraev at the Mindiashvili grand prix to qualify for the Yarygin, Kuular was a runner-up to Chakaev then would become the Euro rep where he would take bronze and also notch his second win over 2x World/Olympic champ #10(INT) Vladimir Khinchegashvili (GEO). #4 Kurban Shiraev turned heads at the Alans in December by beating past Russian nationals medalists #5 Viktor Rassadin and #3 Naachin Kuular before falling to #7 Muslim Saidulaev in the finals. #5 Viktor Rassadin earns his ranking off of past wins over #3 Naachin Kuular and #8 Islam Dudaev. Bekhan Goygereev is in for having had placed at Russian nationals four times and his last being a silver medal in 2018 where he beat #3 Naachin Kuular. #7 Muslim Saidulaev is in for winning the Alans in December over #4 Kurban Shiraev. #9 Artur Badtiev is in for beating #6 Bekhan Goygereev at the Alans, and #10 Aznaur Tavaev is in for beating 2x Russian Nationals runner-up Ismail Musukaev.
