Coming off his fifth-place finish at the NCAA tournament, Max Thomsen will start the season at No. 1, with Geo Martinez and Davion Jeffries battling for the No. 2 spot. Martinez was a two-time Pac-12 champion when he wrestled for Boise State and defeated Jeffries 3-2 in the 2016 NCAA tournament, but Jeffries has been more active while Martinez was redshirting, so he gets the benefit of the doubt, for now.
