NCAA Rankings 2017-18

165: IMarvelous

Isaiah Martinez waiting nearly an entire year to avenge his NCAA finals loss to Vincenzo Joseph. Martinez likely earned a top seed at the NCAA tournament by winning his fourth Big Ten title over Cenzo. At the same event, Alex Marinelli suffered the first three losses of his varsity career, two to Logan Massa and one to Richie Lewis, and falls from #2 to #5. Massa climbs from #11 to #7 for his Big Ten efforts. Also at the Big Tens, Isaiah White bested Nick Wanzek and climbs ahead in the rankings.

Elsewhere, Chad Walsh reversed the result of his last meeting with Chance Marsteller in the EWL finals and the two swap positions. Andrew Fogarty upset Branson Ashworth in the Big 12 semifinals to jump four notches. And finally, Jonathan Chavez beat Drew Daniels (who beat #17 Mat Bethea for third) and #19 Jonathan Schleifer in consecutive matches to win the EIWAs and return to the top 20 at #18.
