133: Anthony Cefolo Crashes the Party
Much of this weight class remains unsettled. The biggest match was No. 20 Cam Kelly of Ohio upsetting No. 7 Bryan Lantry of Buffalo. The Bulls junior hasn’t notched enough quality wins this year to keep him from falling down behind Kelly, who also jumps up quite a bit himself.
The other conundrum is the Anthony Cefolo, Ian Parker, Austin DeSanto, Noah Gonser quad. Gonser beat Cefolo in the Keystone Classic semis last week. In the finals, DeSanto trounced Gonser. Parker beat DeSanto in a dual two weeks ago, yet Cefolo pinned Parker on Sunday.
Gonser’s loss this weekend to Garrett People places him at the bottom of that quartet and out of the rankings. For the other three, we used head-to-head criteria, which puts Cefolo ahead of Parker and Parker ahead of DeSanto and DeSanto out of the top 20. So that’s how they are ordered for now — who knows how that will change in a few weeks.
