Class Of 2019 Big Board

The Final 2019 Senior Big Board

As the recruiting world works these days, most of the top shelf guys are off the board before their senior year starts. Additionally, with three and four years worth of data, the Senior Big Board experiences very little movement over the last six months of its life.

As such, here is the first update since the start of the season - and the final one - for the Class of 2019.

At the Top

I deliberated and deliberated. I think you can make a case for Kerkvliet, Schultz, or even Alirez as the top recruit of the year. Heck, throw in Kharchla, too. He's been utterly dominant.

Schultz has the best body of work and represents a very high floor. He'll certainly be in the mix to AA from jump street, even within a wave of deep heavyweight talent. Consider that he's beaten Mason Parris, who was an NCAA 5-seed this year as a true freshman.

The case for Kerkvliet involves a little faith; with his frame yet to fill out and his very good footwork, his ceiling might be the highest.

Alirez - well he's already beating seasoned college All Americans. And consider the relative lack of talent in and around 149. It's one of the most glaring things in wrestling that pass with little discussion on. Over the years, depth at 149 is pretty paltry. In comes Alirez, who is already proven.

Big Movers

The biggest mover of the class is Chris Donathan, who wasn't ranked last time, but who had a fantastic season punctuated by a state title and an NHSCA crown (up a weight).

He's one of twenty wrestlers to make the final Top 100 that didn't appear in the last update.

Reece Witcraft, who won Ironman, moved from unranked to #24.

Pete Christensen, who finished the year ranked #1 at 195, jumped from 53 to 23.

Still On the Market

There are just three uncommitted Top 100 Seniors.

Lucas Byrd decommitted from Maryland. Ryan Vulakh is in the process of getting a release from George Mason.

Florida's Johnny Lovett is the final one.
