Returning world champion #1 David Taylor (USA) is out for the rest of the year with a knee injury he suffered at Beat the Streets against NCAA champion Drew Foster (USA). Because of this, two-time World/Olympic champ Hassan Yazdani Charati (IRI) takes the #1 spot officially regaining his status as the greatest. 

Because of Taylor’s injury and subsequent withdrawal from the rankings everyone gets brought up on spot in the rankings which allowed for Sassari tournament champ Ahmed Bazrigaleh (IRI) to debut in the rankings at #19.
