A native of Woodbine, MD, Shapiro is  ranked top 10 in the nation at 145 pounds for the month of June in 2021. A youth state champion in Maryland during 2019, Shapiro has a lengthy list of accomplishments for his young age. Shapiro finished fifth at the prestigious Beast of The East tournament in 2019 and followed that up with a Maryland state title.
