Every year on conference weekend we see standout performances from the talented but lower seeded wrestlers at their respective conference tournaments.  I took a look at the seeds, the brackets, and the résumé’s in many of the NCAA conferences and condensed a list of the top 30 dark horses for this weekend’s conference tournaments.

The post-season is here. We have to wait an extra week for the biggest and baddest conference tournament of them all, but that just gives us more time to preview, prognosticate, and predict what will happen. Below is the projected seed for every weight at the Big Ten tournament with the number of allocations listed below. Pre seeds will be released early next week.

Week 4 of NCAA wrestling had another healthy dose of upsets, and a few freshmen notched wins that should get them into the rankings. The Purdue Boilermakers wrapped up the dual meet portion of their season on Sunday with an 18-14 win over Illinois. Purdue's progression has been so impressive this season that The Wrestling Nomad named head coach Tony Ersland the mid-season Coach of the Year. Their season, impressive as it has been, will largely be judged based on their NCAA tournament performance. Are they capable of finishing in the top four at NCAA's?
