A native of Tempe, Arizona, Bartlett was a standout prep at Wyoming Seminary. During his time in high school Bartlett amassed an overall record of 177-8 and was a four time prep national champion. Bartlett won the Walsh Ironman in 2016 and Powerade titles in 2017 and 2019. Bartlett also won a title at the Pan American championships in 2018 and placed eighth at the US Senior open while he was still in high school.

Nick Lee explains his perspective on the mix up in the US Open semifinals. The final score was 10-10 and they raised Bartlett's hand at the conclusion of the match. Later they realized that Beau had a caution which ultimately gave the match to Lee.
