A four time Utah state champion with four MOW's to go along with the titles, LaMont capped his high school career off as a four time Fargo champion (two in freestyle, two in Greco) and a Bronze medal at the Junior World championships in 2016. LaMont spent his first year at Utah Valley in a redshirt compiling a record of 20-5 winning two opens along the way. As a redshirt freshman, LaMont was an NCAA qualifier with an overall record of 27-5. LaMont went 2-2 at the NCAA championships in 2018 losing in the quarterfinals to Ohio States Nathan Tomasello. After receiving a medical redshirt for the 18-19 season, LaMont returned up at 133 pounds for the 19-20 season.
