Every four years, the Olympic Team Trials attracts one of the greatest collections of active American wrestlers under one roof. Just how great will the 2024 Trials in State College be? Keep reading and we will tell you!

As a qualifying tournament for Final X, this year's edition of the US Open has brought out a deeper level of talent than we've seen in Vegas in recent memory. Chief among the most loaded brackets will be 79 kilos in the men's freestyle divisions.

Team USA is bringing a very experienced men's freestyle squad to the U23 World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain. Every team member is a medal threat, but they'll have plenty of international challengers. Below is a breakdown of the toughest competitors we're expecting to see at each weight class.

The 2022 World Team Trials are set to go down in Coralville, Iowa May 21-22. This tournament will set the top two wrestlers at every weight who will wrestle-off for the world team spot in June at Final X. Seeds for the trials likely won't be released until a few days prior to the tournament, but because of its importance, we decided to predict what the top 7-8 seeds at each weight will look like. Take a look at those projections for men's freestyle below.

The US Open finally returns, and with it, a chance for the top senior level contenders to qualify for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in May, which determines who participates in Final X. Challenge Tournament seeds will also largely be determined by the results from the Open.

What can you expect when Iowa (8-0) faces Oklahoma State (8-0) on Saturday, February 12?The unique venue should come to mind. It doesn’t get much more innovative and creative than a dual on Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Unless, of course, you hosted a November dual on a football field in Iowa.

The World Team Trials will take place September 11-12 to determine the team that will compete in Oslo, Norway October 2-10. In this article we’ll explore what the top 8 seeds might look like for the competitors at 79kg in men’s freestyle.

It could really happen. After almost a four year hiatus, Jordan Burroughs and Kyle Dake could wrestle once again; this time for a spot on the Olympic Team. The two had one of the best rivalries for a brief period at 74 kg until Dake moved up to 79 kg and won two World titles. Now, he’s back down to try and take what JB has kept from him in the past.

Olympic Trials week is finally here! Before official seeds come out later in the week, I wanted to take my best guess at how the seeding committee will see things. 

We're entering into a phenomenal era of US wrestling. More and more athletes are able to wrestle for a living full time post college and the RTC structure has been a big reason for this. The recent RTC Cup was a success and hopefully laid the ground work for similar events in the future. It also had me reminiscing about the wild time this spring and summer when it seemed like every other day a major athlete was transferring from one RTC to another. 

A few weeks ago I asked my Twitter followers how they would put together an all-time great college dual team with the current weights using athletes from their home states. The responses were great and really got me curious. So, I did the research and have now putting together the best possible team for some of the top states, including some formidable back-up teams.
