We're already into April, firmly ensconced in freestyle szn, but that doesn't mean we can't circle back and do even more analysis regarding the NCAA tournament. We can even include analyses of tournaments from the past 20+ years.

The transfer portal has changed the landscape of NCAA wrestling. Not only does it give us more to talk about in the off season, but coaches have had to alter their recruiting methods. This was on full display at the 2022 NCAA Championships considering almost one-fifth of qualifiers started their careers at different academic institutions.

The 2022 NCAA Championships concluded with Penn State winning their 9th team title in the last 12 years. Is it too early to start looking at next year’s team race? Probably, but that’s not going to stop us from exploring what the 2023 team race might look like!

It's always interesting to go back and look at what wrestlers performed to their expectations coming out of high school, and what athletes overperformed. So, that's exactly what I have done.

After the incredible spectacle of the 2022 NCAA Championships, many are already analyzing the 2023 Championships. However, because of the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes in 2021, tracking wrestlers' eligibility has been extremely challenging. With that in mind, we combed through every All-American and national qualifier at this year's tournament to determine how much eligibility each wrestler has left in his respective college career.
