    William (Bill) Smith was an American Wrestler who won back to back NCAA titles at 165 pounds in 1949 and 1950 for what is now the University of Northern Iowa. At the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Smith won the Gold medal in Freestyle at the welterweight class. Bill passed away on March 20, 2018.
