Watch the match and find out who beat two-time World champion Zaurbek Sidakov at Russian Nationals.
It's not often that a two-time World champion and two-time World silver medalist winning is an upset, but that's Russian Nationals baby. In the very first round at Russian Nationals Khetik Tsabolov (pictured above) gave Zaurbek Sidakov his first lost since the 2018 Yarygin. Not coincidentally, it was Tsabolov who beat him then as well.
Watch Khetik Tsabolov defeat Zaurbek Sidakov 9-3 below.
This match was close until the end. Sidakov is notorious for getting clutch takedowns with short time. That is how he defeated Jordan Burroughs at both the 2018 and 2019 World Championships. He was unable to this time however.
Tsabolov would go on to have an incredibly match in the semifinals with World champion Magomed Kurbanaliev and advance to finals, which will be later today. Sidakov won his repechage match and will wrestle for bronze.
