The first big upset of the season went down in Minneapolis when Rider stunned the Golden Gophers. Jonathon Tropea knocking off NCAA qualifier Patrick McKee to get the dual started, and Dean Sherry pinning All-American Devin Skatzka sparked the Broncs' big win. Rider would go on to finish 12-3 and inside the top 25 of our final D1 dual rankings.

285: Chase Singletary (Ohio State) dec John Borst (Virginia Tech), 4-2

Just two days after Rider pulled off an upset on the road, Virginia Tech did the same in Columbus. The Hokies took four of the first five weights which included a pin from Brent Moore over Sammy Sasso. Despite three-time All-American David McFadden going down, Virginia Tech was able to hang on and silence the Covelli Center thanks to back-to-back wins from Cody Hughes and Hunter Bolen to put the dual out of reach.

The night the streak ended. Arizona State put an end to Penn State's 60-dual win streak in dramatic fashion in the desert when NCAA champion Anthony Cassar wasn't able to tech or pin All-American Tanner Hall. Cassar came within inches of playing hero when he threw Hall to his back in the first period. Hall was able to recover, though, and kept Cassar from earning bonus points to give us possibly the first mat storming in NCAA history.

197: Eric Schultz (Nebraska) dec. Shakur Rasheed (Penn State), 3-1

285: Seth Nevills (Penn State) dec. Christian Lance (Nebraska), 4-0

Penn State's big guns — RBY, Nick Lee, Vincenzo Joseph, and Mark Hall — put the team on their back and helped lead the Nittany Lions past an upset-minded Nebraska squad in front of the largest crowd ever to watch a dual in Lincoln. The dual came down to the final match of the night when Seth Nevills was too much for Christian Lance.

The last time Northern Iowa beat Oklahoma State? 1991. The Panther Train left West Gym and took their show to the McLeod Center and in front of over 4,000 fans pulled the upset. The turning point of the dual came when Keaton Geerts upset Wyatt Sheets and then two matches later Bryce Steiert got bonus points in Joe Smith's return to the mat. Carter Isley sealed it in the final match to give UNI their first win over Oklahoma State in 29 years.

It's hard to overcome an injury default loss in a dual, especially inside the RAC, but that is exactly what Purdue did. Three sudden victory matches, including the final and, deciding match of the dual, proved to be the difference.

*Iowa was deducted one team point during 133 for failing to control mat

The most anticipated dual of the year and it didn't disappoint. The RBY-DeSanto fiasco, an absolute war between Vincenzo Joseph and Alex Marinelli, Michael Kemerer makes Mark Hall pay the Carver tax again, and Tony Cassioppi sent CHA into a frenzy when he clinched Iowa's first win over Penn State since 2015.

This dual was a blast from start to finish. Mikey Labriola started it off with a last-second takedown, Rocky Jordan upset Taylor Venz, Ridge Lovett scored a win in the final seconds, and Isaiah White blew the roof off the Devaney Center with a walk-off pin to send Cornhusker fans home happy.

The big story with this dual was Matt Kolodzik ripping off his Olympic redshirt to return to the lineup and Ben Darmstadt having no problem with Pat Brucki.

A statement win for Michigan State. For the first time since 2009, the Spartans knocked off Wisconsin and did it in Madison. Michigan State won three of the final four matches including getting a huge pin from Layne Malczewski to propel the Spartans past the Badgers.

Feb. 14, 2020 - NC State 21, Virginia Tech 18

184: Hunter Bolen (Virginia Tech) dec. Trent Hidlay (NC State), 3-1

197: Stanley Smeltz (Virginia Tech) FALL Tyrie Houghton (NC State), 0:18

285: Deonte Wilson (NC State) dec. John Borst (NC State), 3-1

125: Jakob Camacho (NC State) dec. Joey Prata (Virginia Tech), 5-4

133: Jarrett Trombley (NC State) FALL Collin Gerardi (Virginia Tech), 0:44

141: Mitch Moore (Virginia Tech) dec. Tariq Wilson (NC State), 7-3

In my opinion, this was the best dual of the year. Three pins, Thomas Bullard upsets David McFadden, Hunter Bolen and Trent Hidlay square off, Deonte Wilson comes up clutch once again, and Mitch Moore nearly forced it to criteria in the final match. NC State would have won on criteria, but every single match in this dual was highly entertaining.

WATCH FULL DUAL REPLAY & INDIVIDUAL MATCHES

What's better than in-state rivals squaring off? Jay Schwarm did what he does and picked up another fall, Max Thomsen and Jarrett Degen gave us another barnburner, Sammy Colbray upset Bryce Steiert, and Gannon Gremmel got revenge on Carter Isley. Hilton Coliseum was rocking as over 5,000 fans were in attendance.
