The Olympics represent the pinnacle of our sport, the goal of everyone who laces up a pair of wrestling shoes.

In order to represent the United States of America at the Olympic Games, you have to wrestle in the Olympic Team Trials. On the men's freestyle side of things, there are 17 guys already qualified for the Trials in State College this April.

There are three ways so far that these athletes have qualified, and we'll list each by the way they got into the trials.

2019 U23 World Champion

  • Bo Nickal

Some of these athletes still have decisions to make about which direction they will be going weight-wise — Bo Nickal for example. At 74kg, Jordan Burroughs has a bye to the best-of-three finals and at 97kg Kyle Snyder has a bye to the best-of-three finals. They earned those by winning medals at the 2019 world championships in Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, Kyle Dake and J'den Cox won non-Olympic weight classes at worlds, so they are given byes into the semis of whatever weight they choose. Cornell coach Rob Koll has indicated Dake will be down at 74kg.

The next way to qualify will be the Bill Farrell next weekend in New York City. Make sure to watch live on Flo November 15-16.
