Right before Oklahoma State won the biggest dual of the year, they picked a major commitment from the Class of 2020. Junior Jakason Burks announced his verbal to wrestle for the Cowboys after high school.

Currently ranked #3 at 120 pounds, Burks is a junior out of Omaha Burke in Nebraska. The Fargo champ projects as a 125 or 133 at the next level.

Oklahoma State is putting together an impressive 2020 recruiting class. As of now, there are four recruits in the Top-25 of the Junior Big Board heading to Stillwater for college. Burks, #15 on the Big Board, will be teammates with #2 Dustin Plott, #10 Trevor Mastrogiovanni, and #24 Konner Doucet.

A 2018 Cadet world team member in Greco-Roman, Burks went 58-0 this past season to win his second Class A state title in Nebraska. His career record will be 122-4 entering his senior year.

His Fargo title this past July allowed him to wrestle in Who's #1 in October. This year, he has one year of Cadet eligibility left to try to make another world team, but is also eligible to compete at the Junior Open and World Team Trials if he so chooses.

With Nick Piccininni being a junior, it likely means one of Mastrogiovanni or Burks will have to start as a true freshman in the 2020-21 season. If they trade redshirts those first two years, that would allow Daton Fix to graduate and one could then bump up to 133 when they are both redshirt sophomores.
