FloWrestler Of The Week: Taylor LaMont, Utah Valley

Ladies and gentlemen, Taylor LaMont.

He’s been on the Fargo stage more times than you can count and has brought home some hardware from the World Championships. Now, the Utah Valley redshirt freshman has introduced himself to the 125-pound field on the NCAA level.

While competing at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, LaMont hit the jackpot as he won the title at 125 at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Saturday afternoon.

The 12th-ranked Wolverine started his title run with two first-period falls over Alex Nunez and Lukus Stricker on Friday. Lamont then defeated No. 20 Drew Mattin to reach Saturday's quarterfinals before knocking off third-ranked Ethan Lizak, the returning NCAA runner-up. Lamont closed the tournament by beating No. 16 Connor Schram in the semifinals and No. 7 Sean Russell in the finals.

Taylor LaMont’s impressive run to become Utah Valley’s first CKLV champion makes him our FloWrestler of the Week.
