Virginia Gets Verbals From Three Ranked Recruits
Virginia picked up three ranked recruits last week in Justin McCoy, Alex Cruz and Ben Kamali.
The University of Virginia had a busy week of recruiting. In just a few short days, the Cavaliers received verbal commitments from Justin McCoy, Alexander Cruz, and Ben Kamali.
McCoy is the highest ranked of the three, currently No. 6 at 145 pounds. He was 43-3 last season for Chestnut Ridge (PA) en route to a AA state title. The senior takes a 122-16 career record into his final season, having placed three times at the state tournament. The projected 149-pounder is 96th overall on the senior Big Board and has placed twice at Fargo.
Fargo finalist Cruz is ranked eighth at 132 and will be joining his former high school teammate Fred Green on the Cavaliers. A three-time Washington state champ, Cruz projects as a 133 in college but could also bump to 141 if Jack Mueller ends his career as a 133.

FloNationals champ Ben Kamali is currently No. 16 at 120. Kamali wrestles for Michigan powerhouse Detroit Catholic Central and projects at 125lb. He is a two-time Michigan state champ who has placed multiple times at Fargo, made two FloNats finals, and been on the podium at Super 32.
