Pat Downey Pulled From Who's #1 Match Against Deron Winn

Pat Downey and Deron Winn were scheduled to wrestle in the finale of next month's Who's #1, but all that changed today.

Hawkeye Wrestling Club coach Mark Perry let FloWrestling know that Downey will not be competing in the Oct. 8 match at Lehigh University's Lehman Turner Arena at Grace Hall in Bethlehem, PA, which was going to settle all of the trash talking between Downey and Winn that went down on Twitter a few months ago.

The rest of the incredible card is still fully intact with cadet world champions Kurt McHenry and Will Lewan looking to continue their winning streaks. McHenry will try to take the top spot from junior world team member Malik Heinselman, and Lewan will look to defend his against Brayton Lee.

Fellow cadet world team medalist Jacori Teemer and Gavin Hoffman will be competing as well. Teemer, who currently holds the top spot at 138, will wrestle Ohio's Mitch Moore, while Hoffman will be attempting to unseat top-ranked Michael Beard at 195 pounds. Everything will go down on Sunday, Oct. 8, in the Snakepit at 2 PM ET.
