125: #7 Josh Rodriguez (NDSU) vs. #10 Nick Piccininni (Oklahoma State)

1st Period: Handshake and here we goo. Level change/collar from Pich right away. He gets elbow control and is moving Rodriguez. Shot by Pich but nice downblock by Rodriguez. Standing single for Pich but Rodriguez gets his hips back and we're scoreless with 2 minutes to go. Elbow control slide by a la Toghrul Asgarov for Pich, he slips the near leg in for two! Pich working claw/chop on the left side. Over 30 seconds of riding time already. Rodriguez escapes to make it 2-1 as the period runs out, but not before Pich accumulates 53 seconds of riding time.

2nd Period: Rodriguez chooses down. Riding time now over a minute as Rodriguez escapes to make it 2-2. 1:14 RT for Pich. 1:25 to go in the 2nd. Warning for interlocking fingers. Beautiful knee pull single by Pich but a leg pass by Rodriguez thwarts him and now he's nearly in position to score. Neither scores, somehow. Amazing defense by each. 2nd ends tied 2-2.

3rd Period: Pich chooses bottom. Rodriguez eliminates the riding time for Pich and gives up the escape. 3-2 lead for PIch RT not a factor. Double by Rodriguez but good hips from Pich and we get a stalemate. 1:15 to go. Textbook double for Rodriguez for 2! Immediate escape and it's 4-4 with 15 to go. Smellin' like OT!

Sudden Victory 1: 1 minute on the clock and RT is gone. Lots of head taps from Rodriguez and he's getting some reactions from Pich but not pulling the trigger and it's Tiebreaker time!

Pich chooses bottom: Stand up and escape for Pich in just 4 seconds! Time runs out.
Rodrigues chooses bottom: Rodriguez out in 7 seconds and we're tied 5-5.

Sudden Victory 2: Back on our feet. Both exchange shots and it's a single leg and quick finish this time for Pich! 7-5 final and what a start to these finals! Oklahoma State goes to 21-0 at Big 12's this year.

133: #5 Seth Gross (SDSU) vs. #2 Kaid Brock (Oklahoma State)

1st Period: Both guys are on the mat for the marquee match of the Big 12 finals. Kaid counters a 2 on 1 to a high crotch and finish for the 2-0 early lead. Quick escape makes it 2-1 Kaid. Single for Gross, comes to his feet with it and there's the finish. He's going to work on top but there's a reversal from Brock! Escape from Gross makes it 4-4 with 4 seconds of riding time for Gross. Re-attack single from Brock and he's on a standing single, Gross pulls his arm off but Kaid back trips for 2 more! What a period. Escape for Gross and it's 6-5 Brock.

2nd Period: Gross takes bottom. Immediate escape from Gross and we're knotted at 6 early in the 2nd. Sweep attempt by Gross defended by Brock. Straight on double by Brock defended by Gross, they hang in a seat belt position before it's stalemated. Spear single by Gross with a quick finish puts Gross up 8-6! He escapes with 4 seconds to go! 8-7 after 2!

3rd Period: Brock chooses bottom, 20 seconds of RT for Gross. Stall warning on Gross for dropping down. 40 seconds of riding time for Gross. Now over a minute of RT! 31 to go in the match. RT at 1:50 for Gross. Rideout for Gross and he takes it 9-7 with riding time! Another great match!

141: #1 Dean Heil (Oklahoma State) vs. #8 Bryce Meredith (Wyoming)

1st Period: Underway now in a rematch of the NCAA finals. Single right away for Dean and a whizzer from Meredith, now up to their feet and a nice back trip and finish and Heil is on the board 2-0 already. 2:24 to go in the 1st. Escape for Meredith makes it 2-1 . Meredith in on the single but nice defense from Heil prevents the score. Front headlock by Meredith who looks knee tap but can't score. Nice re-attack by Dean and there's another 2 for the champ! 4-1 Heil with 40 to go. Now 4-2. Period ends 4-2.

2nd Period: Meredith chooses bottom. Meredith is out again. 4-3 now. Double from space by Heil, he nearly earns a non-controlled fall as Meredith turns down for two. Another escape and a counter TD for Heil makes it 8-4! Reversal for Meredith makes it 8-6. Period ends.

3rd Period: Heil reverses and there's a quick escape by Meredith. Nice shot by Meredith but Heil dive over and is trying to pass. Stopped for potentially dangerous. That was an opportunity for Meredith. Another Meredith attack and we're scrambling again. Stalemate with 21 to go and it's 10-7 Heil. That's the final in another wild affair. Dean Heil brings home another Big 12 title.

149: #2 Anthony Collica (Oklahoma State) vs. #15 Davion Jeffries (Oklahoma)

1st Period: Here we gooooo, Collica crowding already, Jeffries looks for a slide by but he pulls Collica right into a high crotch that he finishes quickly. Escape for Jeffries and it's 2-1. Nice set up and single by Collica but he can't finish on the edge. 1 minute to go. Another attack by Collica but Jeffries has some tricks and makes it tough. 2 given but time may have been up so we'll have a review. Call stands and it's 4-1 after 1.

2nd Period: Collica chooses bottom. Jeffries drives him out of bounds with 1:43 remaining in the period. Collica tries to pass a leg it looks like and gives up 2 NF! 4-3 Collica now. Standup for Collica and it's 5-3 Collica with 45 to go. RT at 42 for Jeffries. Crazy counter and Jeffries nearly gets the two but can't.

3rd Period: Jeffries escapes to make it 5-4. Collica backing up and not looking quite right. Great pressure by Jeffries. 36 to go. Stall warning against Collica with short time and he finds his way to a leg and finishes late for the 7-4 win. Very interesting bout.

157: #7 Joe Smith (Oklahoma State) vs. #11 Clay Ream (NDSU)

1st Period: Underway now as Joe is moving Ream around, lots of level changes and pulls. Beautiful low attack by Joe with a quick finish for a 2-0 lead and Ream is struggling to move underneath. Already approaching a minute of riding time. Joe is going nuts working for this turn and he gets it. He takes Ream over with a bar and he almost is in position to put him away. 6-0 Smith after 1 with 2:10 of riding time.

2nd Period: Smith chooses bottom and escapes. Low single again by Joe and he's nearly finished it but a nice counter by Ream prevents. 1 minute to go. Another re-attack by Joe but he runs out of time. 7-0 after 2.

3rd Period: Neutral choice in the third. Single leg by Ream but Joe defends as there's just 33 to go. 8-0 major for Joe Smith!

165: #7 Chandler Rogers (Oklahoma State) vs. #15 Dylan Cottrell (WVU)

1st Period: Hand fighting early and a great knee tap by Rogers gives him the takedown. 2-0 early lead and there's the escape making it 2-1. Shot by Cottrell and a go behind attempt and he gets called for a technical violation for pulling the singlet against Rogers and it's 2-2. Period ends.

2nd Period: Rogers chooses bottom. Standup by Rogers and he's away and has a 3-2 lead. High crotch by Rogers but a great counter makes it very close. Might be a challenge coming. No takedown given and that's the end of the 2nd.

3rd Period: Cottrell escapes to tie it and we've got another scramble and this time Cottrell comes out on top! 5-3 Cottrell 1:10 to go and he's riding tough. RT not a factor as Rogers escapes to make it 5-4 and Cottrell shoots again. Another scramble with 10 to go and it's a stalemate position. 8 left now and Cottrell is in the drivers seat! Cottrell defends a last ditch effort from Rogers and holds on for the 5-4 win!

174: Matt Reed (Oklahoma) vs. #7 Kyle Crutchmer (Oklahoma State)

1st Period: Fired up for this one. Reed has looked fantastic and so has Crutchmer. Throw the rankings out. Underway now as they hand fight in the middle. Shot by Crutchmer as he chases a kicking Reed, now crackdown and Crutchmer doubles off for the takedown. Tack on another point for an illegal head scissors and it's 3-0 Crutchmer. Escape by Reed and it's 3-1 Crutchmer. Period ends.

2nd Period: Reed takes bottom and escapes and it's 3-2 Crutchmer. Shot by Reed but Crutchmer throws it by as his elbows were out. Now it's 5-3 after a quick Reed escape. Reed is injured and being tended to. Crutchmer gets choice and goes under but can't get away as the period ends.

3rd Period: Crutchmer takes bottom. He escapes to make it 6-3. Reed is moving well despite the taped ankle. Double by Crutchmer for 2 more and now it's 8-3! Another escape for Reed makes it 8-4. Reed in on a shot and that is how it ends, 8-4 final for Crutchmer and the Cowboys have their 5th champ.

184: #5 Nolan Boyd (Oklahoma State) vs. #19 Dylan Gabel (Northern Colorado)

1st Period: Shot in the first 3 seconds by Boyd on a single leg, up to his feet with it but Gabel kicks out. Another single, same side but this time he steps behind and is in better position. He's beaten the whizzer and now has 2. Boyd riding well and has over 1 minute of riding time. He rides out, 2-0 after 1.

2nd Period: Boyd chooses bottom. Standup by Boyd and there's 1 and a quick takedown makes it 5-0 and now Boyd is back working on top. Stall point makes it 6-0. Rideout and it's 3:08 of riding time so that point is coming regardless.

3rd Period: Gabel chooses bottom. Boyd lets him up and is on a single quickly and finishes. 8-1 now. Another escape and another quick go behind makes it 10-2, now 10-3. Gabel tries to jump over him but is unsuccessful. 10-3 now with RT point still coming. TD boyd and it's 12-3. Another TD and it's a 15-4 final for Boyd.

197: #5 Jake Smith (WVU) vs. #9 Preston Weigel (Oklahoma State)

1st Period: Underway now between two absolute beasts. A lot of hand fighting now. No attacks 1 minute in. Holy cow! Just a quick pancake and Smith goes over and gets pinned! Weigel stuffed his shot and just put him right on his back. Smith hurt his ankle when his shot was stuffed.

285: #6 Austin Schafer (Oklahoma State) vs. Dustin Dennison (Utah Valley)

1st Period: Underway in the last bout of the night. Dennison coming out and throwing underhooks but Schafer clears. No attempts from Schafer so far.

2nd Period: Schafer chooses bottom and escapes in 3 seconds. 1-0 lead. Single by Schafer and now he's up 3-0. Rideout for Schafer.

3rd Period: Neutral start here and it's another takedown for Schafer, he leads 5-0 Now 8-0 after a penalty point is given to Schafer after a turn. With riding time it's a 9-0 final for Austin Schafer! Cowboys crown 8 Big 12 champs. That's a wrap!
