Live Updates: Penn State v. Ohio State

#8 Penn State travels to Columbus for a dual with the 3rd ranked Buckeyes.   

The dual is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM EST. 

125-#7 Nathan Tomasello-Ohio State v #8 Jordan Conaway-Penn State
1st Period: Tomasello in on a hi c!  Quick finish and he transitions perfectly to that turk and he's getting a count!  5-0 and that's vintage Nate!  Conaway finally able to hip down.  Tomasello transitions great to the arm bar.  Conaway up to his feet but runs out of bounds.  No change and it's 1:04 to go. Escape for Conaway and he dives from space on a nice single, and after a good fight, Tomasello frees his leg.  Nate takes a high crotch and finishes with a double to take a 7-1 lead into the 2nd! 

2nd Period: Tomasello takes bottom.   Quick sit from Tomasello but Conaway returns him.  Conaway looking good on top.  Tomasello up to his feet and out.  8-1 Tomasello. Nate's snaps, pulls and fakes have Conaway out of sorts and he gets to an easy high-crotch with a quick finish.  10-1 Nate.  Rideout for Nate.

3rd Period: Conaway takes bottom.  He escapes.  10-2 but Tomasello has RT.  Great reattack by Tomasello but Conaway locks around the crotch.  North/South position and it's stalemated.  Tomasello takes it 11-2!

Ohio State: 4 PSU: 0

133-#3 Johnni DiJulius-Ohio State v #10 Jimmy Gulibon-Penn State
1st Period: Underway here, DiJulius underneath with a 2 on 1.  JDJ gets to the elbow again and he gets the dump!  2-0 JDJ.  Claw ride by JDJ.  JDJ has the leg in and standing, gets out of position and gives up the reversal.  2-2 now! Escape for DiJulius makes it 3-2 in favor of JDJ.  JDJ back to that 2 on 1 on his knees controlling the elbow but it's stalemated.  

2nd Period: Gulibon takes bottom. Escape for Jimmy, he gets in on a single leg.  The 2 looked like it was coming but JDJ somehow fights out of it.  3-3. 

3rd Period: JDJ takes bottom and escapes.  4-3 Johnni.  Gulibon just bowls JDJ over for the takedown now he leads 5-4!  JDJ flat on his belly but it's called Pot. dangerous.  Gulibon gets the rideout and it's a 5-4 win for Jimmy!

141-#1 Logan Stieber-Ohio State v Kade Moss-Penn State
1st Period: Logan fired off a few attacks from space, headlock attempt by Moss but Stieber just goes behind for 2.  Boots come in. Claw and bar tilt for Logan and he's got 2 more.  Bar/Half and Moss goes over and there's the stick!

Ohio State: 10 PSU: 3

149-#8 Hunter Stieber-Ohio State v #16 Zach Beitz-Penn State
1st Period: Hunter gets in on a single but a nice whizzer from Beitz and it's stalemated.  Ankle pick attampe by Beitz but Hunter evades.  Low double by Hunter for 2! Leg comes in. Quick sit out and escape for Beitz and it's 2-1 Hunter.  Another nice single from Hunter, he shelfs it, comes up to his feet and he finishes.  4-1 and there's the rideout.

2nd Period: Beitz takes bottom. He escapes quickly.  4-2 now.  Beitz continuing to look for that ankle pick.  Beitz in on a single, but a whizzer from Stieber giets the stalemate.  Once again Beitz in deep.  Beitz shalfing the leg, getting close to 2 but Hunter is able to switch his hips around and get 2 at the buzzer!  Great defense!

3rd Period: Hunter takes bottom. Head lever attempt from Beitz but Hunter gets up and out.  7-2 Hunter now.  54 to go.  Single from Beitz, whizzer by Hunter and they're out of bounds.  Beitz has Hunter in a front headlock.  Hunter clears out.  20 to go.  Beitz in deep for about the 6th time but the whizzer is giving him problems, time runs out.  Hunter wins 7-2.

157-#4 Josh Demas-Ohio State v #7 Dylan Alton-Penn State
1st Period: Underway here, Dylan runs him off the mat.  Alton trying to get to his ties, fake hi-c from Demas.  1:52 to go.  2 on 1 for Demas.  Duck attempt by Demas.  Nothin' doing.  1st ends scoreless.  Not a lot going on.

2nd Period: Demas takes bottom. WOW, sweet flurry!  Alton ALMOST had the Chin and Arm, but Demas was able to scramble out of it.  1-0 Demas! Duck attempt by Demas but Alton is ready.  Nice single by Alton, has Demas on his foot bouncing, Demas gets his foot on the mat then looks inside trip, no score though.  Still 1-0 Demas and period ends.

3rd Period:
Alton takes bottom.  Quick standup by Alton and it's 1-1.  Duck attempt by Demas but can't get behind and they're out of bounds.  55 to go. Alton taking ground.  Alton transitions from the front head to a single, again has Demas on one leg, but again can't finish!  17 to go!

SV1: Underway here.  Head taps from Demas and Alton shoots,  Demas stuffs and nearly has the go behind but can't get an angle.  28 to go.  High crotch by Dylan Alton and there's the finish!  He takes it 3-1!

Intermission: Ohio State: 13 PSU: 6

165-#6 Bo Jordan-Ohio State v Garrett Hammond-Penn State
1st Period: Bo in on that single right away.  Bo has the far ankle and needs to clear his head out.  Weird position.  Stalemated.  Bo right back on that single and finishes quickly.  Legs come in but Hammond clears them and escapes.  2-1 Bo.  Hammond gets warned for stalling and then Bo gets in on another single.  Hammond gets his leg back.  Slide by for Bo and it's 4-1 Bo.  Bo gets the ride out.  

2nd Period:  Hammond takes bottom. He escapes gets to a front headlock, goes head in the hole and get's the takedown! 4-4,  Bo escapes.  5-4 Bo.  Hammond right in on a high crotch.  They're scrambling now.  Bo gets his hips out and gets a go-behind to go up 7-4.  Escape for Hammond and it's 7-5 Bo.

3rd Period: Bo takes bottom.  He escapes but Hammond erases riding time.  8-5 Bo.  Another nice single from Bo, but he's extended, nice hips by Hammond.  Bo has hands locked but it's stalemated. Low single for Bo and it's 10-5, he cuts him immediately, 10-6.  25 to go.  11-6 final

1st Period: Brown taking ground, he's running Prezzia off the mat.  Single by Brown.  TD for Brown.  2-0 lead.  Prezzia really struggling to build up.  Figure 4 ride from Brown.  Now running arm bars.  Warning on Prezzia on bottom. End of 1st.

2nd Period: Prezzia takes bottom. Brown still riding tough, Prezzia flat underneath.  Tilt for Brown makes it 4-0.  Escape for Prezzia, TD for Brown. Brown lets him up but then crunches him over!  Fall for Brown!

Ohio State: 16 PSU: 12

184-#15 Kenny Courts-Ohio State v #17 Matt McCutcheon-Penn State
1st Period: Both guys feeling each other out.  Low single by Courts.  Courts doubling off looking for 2 but there's the stalemate.   There's another low single but once again McCutcheon doing a great job defending and another stalemate!  1st period ends scoreless.

2nd Period: McCutcheon takes bottom.  He escapes, stall warning on Kenny.  1:20 to go. 
Courts in on a single, almost had the 2 but McCutcheon somehow passes the leg for the stalemate! Time up.

3rd Period:  Quick granby and Kenny escapes.  1-1 the score.  Another single by Kenny and he gets the takedown.  3-1 with 1:30 to go.  Kenny controlling the wrists and has riding time over 1 minute.  Escape McCutcheon.  3-2 lead he has 1:10 of RT.  Kenny backing away.  Off the mat.  Kenny hangs on for the win.  4-2 final with RT.

197-#7 Kyle Snyder-Ohio State v #4 Morgan McIntosh-Penn State
1st Period: McIntosh gets in deep, rubber knee by Snyder and it's potentially dangerous. Arm-spin attempt by McIntosh but Snyder was ready.  Snyder snapping and pulling trying to open up McIntosh.    25 to go. Ankle pick attempt from Snyder.  McIntosh just backs out of it.  Time up, no score.

2nd Period: Snyder takes bottom.  Immediately up and out and it's 1-0 Snyder.  Both guys hand fighting.  Nice single and trip for Snyder and it's 3-0 Snyder.  A few lift and returns from Snyder as he's working for the ride out here with short time to go.  McIntosh to a tripod.  Snyder rides him out!

3rd Period: McIntosh goes bottom.  RT over a minute for Snyder now.  Snyder still riding. McIntosh has gotten to his feet probably 10 times but just can't free himself.  Snyder working hard to return.  McIntosh turns in early and tries to throw Snyder but he recovers.  3-1 Snyder with 50 to go!  Double overs for McIntosh, Snyder gets his hips back.  Snyder puts McIntosh over with a chin and arm!  5-1 with 7 seconds to go! This seals the dual win for the Buckeyes! 6-1 final!

285-#13 Nick Tavanello-Ohio State v #6 Jimmy Lawson-Penn State
1st Period: Wondered if we'd see Lawson after he MFF'd out of the Scuffle.  Looks like he's healthy.  Not a lot going on right now.   That was a snoozer.  Scoreless heading to the 2nd.

2nd Period: Lawson escapes quickly.  7 seconds of RT for Tav.  Lawson continuing to work to get to the underhook.  1-0 lead for Lawson.

3rd Period: Tavanello takes bottom.  Lawson up and out. 1-1 RT not a factor.  Shot by Tavanello, nearly gets the finish but the TD goes for Lawson AT the buzzer!  Wow.  But they're reviewing if he got the 2 in time.  Tav in lots of pain, they're looking at his knee.  Not good.  Call confirmed and Lawson wins 3-1.
