Hall won in the semis with a 6-0 win over Simone Innattoni of Italy, an 8-1 win over Meki Simonia of Georgia, a 10-0 TF over Singh Surender of India and a 9-4 win over Yajuro Yamasaki of Japan.

Day 5: Manville, Lee Capture World Titles

What a start!  Two champs in the first day of men's freestyle with still another batch of studs to wrestle tomorrow!

It was a jaw dropping performance by Spencer Lee.  Going unscored upon in the tournament winning 10-0, 12-0, 10-0 (fall) and 11-0 in the finals over Afgan Khashalov, Spencer Lee left no doubt who the man was at 50 KG.

Not to be outdone, Mason Manville was incredibly impressive in his finals performance as well!  He won convincingly 5-0.  It was 1-0 at the break, but his relentless pressure, positioning and phenomenal short offense blew the match wide open against Radik Valiev of Russia.  Mason was a tech-fall winner in his first 3 matches winning 14-1, 10-0 and 13-3 respectively.

Gavin Teasdale was impressive in defeat in his Bronze bout.  He fell 8-5.  The match was close, but a 4 pointer ultimately proved to be the difference for his Georgan opponent.  Interestingly Teasdales semi opponent went on to win the Cadet title, further showing how close Teasdale is to the Worlds best.

At 58KG Carter Happel fell in his opening bout to Enrike Fombeya of the Ukraine 8-3. Hunter Ritter dropped his opening bout 7-3 to Hovhannes Mkhitaryan of Amenia.

Day 4
Garcia Falls Short In Medal Match

The USA Cadet women fell a bit short for the final day of women's competition.

At 52 KG Gabrielle Garcia made the semi's before falling Alina Kazymova of Russia.  In the Bronze bout Gabrielle fell to Haruna Okuno of Japan.

At 46 KG Sariyah Jones won her opening bout, but fell in the next round to Beata Kosla of Poland.  Sariyah was not pulled into repechage with Kosla lost the next round.  Koral Sugiyama lost her opening bout to Yukako Kawai of Japan at 60 KG.
Kendal Reusing won her opening bout over Emese Elekes of Hungary before falling to Volha Zenina of Belarus.

All told Teysha Alo was the lone female medalist for the USA Cadet Women's team.  Alo won gold at 56KG.

Day 3: Alo Golden as First U.S. Medalist

After the Greco Team came up empty on the first two days of competition at Cadet Worlds, The U.S. captured its first medal. And it was the best color.

First Team ASICS All American, Teysha Alo ran through the bracket to become a Cadet World Champion. A Sophomore from Hawaii, Alo has won Fargo and the Body Bar each twice already. She was a returning Bronze Medalist from last year's World Championships.

Wrestling 56KG, Alo beat Aurora Campagno (ITA) in the opening round before taking out two-time European Medalist Tatyana Rizhko ((UKR) in quarters. Her next match was a win over Asian Champion, Kumi Irie (JPN) in the semifinals.

To get her World Title, she'd have to beat reigning World Champion, Ksenia Nezgovorova of Russia. But Alo was up to the task, beating Nezgovorova decisively, 9-2.

Fellow American Anastasia Lobsinger (65KG/CA) reached the Bronze Medal match where she fell to two-time European Medalist, Nellie Brink (SWE), 5-0.

Hailey Cox (43KG/UT) won her opening round bout against her Austrian oppponent before falling to Germany in the quarterfinals.

Theresea Rankin (49KG/MI) lost her first bout vs. Belarus.

The U.S. contingent for the last day of the Women's portion is Sariyah Jones (46KG/CA), Gabrielle Garcia (52KG/CA), Koral Sugiyama (60KG/ID), and Kendal Reusing (70KG/CA).

Day 2

It was tough sledding for the American contingent in Greco as competition at the World Championships in that style wrapped up on Wednesday. After going a cumulative 2-5 on Day 1, Americans won just two bouts on Day 2.

Mason Manville (69KG/VA) won a wild opening round match against Elmar Naraliev (TUR), who was 3rd in this year's European Championships. In his second match he fell to Swede Berg Zebastian.

Illinois' Tim Young lost his opening match to Azerbaijan, who reached the finals. In repechage, Young won his match against Finland, but then fell to his Belarussian opponent in the Bronze Medal match.

Jason Holmes (42KG/AZ) and Nick Reenan (76KG/TX) both their opening round bouts.

Our 46KG entry, Dack Punke (IL) didn't make weight.

Day 1

The opening day of the Cadet World Championships in Snina, Slovakia wasn't a good one for our Americans as no U.S. representative was able to reach a medal bout.

Five wrestlers combined to go just 2-5 on the day. Both wins were earned by Ohio's Dom Demas who went 2-1 at 63KG.

Drew West (50KG/IA), Jacob Spiess (54KG/OH), Taylor LaMont (58KG/UT), and Ethan Anderson (100KG/IA) each dropped their opening round bout. All of the opponents to beat them lost their very next match.
