Jacob Kasper's House Of Style

Duke wrestling's Jacob Kasper has a keen sense of fashion which he uses to create excitement and hype around his NCAA wrestling career.

College wrestling fans should be familiar with Duke heavyweight Jacob Kasper for his sixth-place finish at last season's NCAA Championships in St. Louis. Kasper also made some waves leading up to that tournament with the bold claim that he would "punch (Snyder) in the mouth," figuratively, of course.

That quote raised the dander of some Ohio State wrestling fans, but for Kasper, it was all about having fun and creating excitement around NCAA wrestling's premier event. As further proof of Kasper's commitment to showmanship, look no further than his inimitable fashion sense.

Kasper hasn't always been such a flashy dresser. For his freshman year team photo he was, in his owns words, very conservative, wearing a traditional navy blue blazer and tie.

But after a low key first year, Kasper, one of the original Funky Flickr Boyz, let out his inner fashionista, donning a maroon blazer and gold tie for his sophomore year roster shot.

As they say, clothes make the man, and Kasper used his new confident look to propel him to the NCAA tournament for the first time in his career.

After a redshirt season that Kasper used to pack on about 40 or so pounds of muscle, he bumped up two weight classes and a couple more fashion levels.

The plaid blazer and striped tie combo is only for the bold and daring, and Kasper was definitely that during the 2016-17 season. Kasper had a breakout season his junior year, racking up wins against All-Americans such as Denzel Dejournette, Ty Walz, Michael Kroells, and Nick Nevills on his way to a sixth-place finish at the NCAAs.

From there, Kasper decided he needed to challenge himself, to top not only his wrestling accomplishments but his couture capabilities as well.

It would be exceedingly hard to argue that Kasper did not succeed in his mission, at least in the case of the latter.

From the precise haircut to the gold-flake blazer to the custom-embroidered bowtie with headgear-wearing Caper the Friendly Ghost logos, Jacob Kasper raised the team-photo bar to nigh unfathomable levels.

But wait there's more.

A shoe hound at heart, Kasper completed his outfit with the help of Duke assistant coach Corey Bell, who lent Kasper a pair of red-bottomed Christian Louboutins. Behold, the full Kasper.

But Kasper's more natural element is not in formal attire but on the mat, where his affinity for stylish wrestling shoes is even more evident.

Four pairs is far from enough to satisfy Kasper's podiatric proclivities, however. Jacob gives Imelda Marcos a run for her money with his extensive collection of footwear.

Kasper has enough shoes to wear a different pair every time he competes, and in fact that is exactly what he does.

With flair to spare, regardless of how Jacob Kasper finishes his already impressive collegiate career, you can bet he'll be looking good while doing so.
