Mason Parris Is Wrestling In College!
Mason Parris will be wrestling in college and has shared the list of schools where he will be making official visits.
One of the most prized recruits in this rising senior class will be sticking to wrestling in college. Mason Parris is picking the mat over the gridiron after high school, and he shared with FloWrestling the list of schools where he will be making official visits.
Michigan - September 16th
Nebraska - September 23rd
Virginia Tech - September 30th
Northwestern - October 7th
Although NC State was one of the last schools to visit Parris, its offer could be very enticing. The Wolfpack have a good engineering school as well as the chance for Parris to learn from two-time NCAA champion and current world team member Nick Gwiazdowski.
With Michigan heavyweight Adam Coon entering his final season of eligibility, Parris could slot right in with the Wolverines and start as a true freshman. If Coon stays on to train with the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club, he will be an invaluable mentor for the big man prospect.
Nebraska just added Dom Bradley to its room, and the World Team Trials finalist would be a strong training partner for Parris. He and Alex Thomsen could bookend the Huskers lineup for the next four years.
A rising senior at Lawrenceburg (IN) High School, Parris could be the first big recruit of Tony Robie's head coaching career if he lands at Virginia Tech. Along with Mitch Moore, they would give the Hokies two top 20 commits in this class. Parris would potentially be training with Ty Walz in Blacksburg, VA.
Northwestern assistant Andrew Howe is originally from Indiana, giving him in-state ties that some other coaches may not be able to offer Parris. With Anthony Cassioppi decommitting, the Wildcats have both the space and scholarship money to go after Parris hard.
A three-sport athlete, Parris is No. 2 on the Class of 2018 big board and sits atop the 220lb weight class ranking. Watch him battle future Who's #1 participant Gavin Hoffman earlier this year at NHSCA Duals.
