Trent Paulson will be joining the coaching staff at the University of Virginia, and take over head coaching duties for the Cavalier RTC.

Just over a month ago, his twin brother Travis joined the UVA staff, and at the time also mentioned he would be working with the Cavalier RTC. Trent was a 2007 national champ for Iowa State at 157lbs, and 2009 world team member at 66kg. A spot opened up on the Wahoo staff when Jordan Leen left for Pittsburgh.

Trent has spent the majority of his career in Ames. He was a three-time All American for the Cyclones, and has been on the coaching staff the majority of time since the 2009-10 season. He had been the head coach of the Cyclone Wrestling Club since August of 2012. He also spent one year as an assistant at Nebraska.

It is no surprise that Paulson will be involved in the Cavalier RTC. He is on the coaching staff at Titan Mercury, and is frequently in the corner for senior level athletes at events like the Dave Schultz. Additionally, both current members of the Cavalier WC in Frank Perrelli and Shelton Mack are sponsored by Titan Mercury. Expect Paulson to be in Perrelli's corner at next month's World Team Trials.

Stay up-to-date on all the coaching movement at the Division 1 level.
