Possible Sancho vs Linares Semifinal
Let's start with the possibility of an Alejandro Sancho vs Anthonie Linares match-up in the semifiansls at 66kg. Linares is down after his runner-up finish to Pat Smith at the U.S. Open in December and Sancho will be looking to get a rematch with Ellis Coleman, who defeated Sancho in the finals in December and is at the top as the No. 1-seed.

No Joe Rau at 98kg
Tracy Hancock got the automatic 1-seed after winning the Open in December, but the interesting note here is that Joe Rau is not here. Rau owns a win over Hancock, but has been sidelined with injury. With no Rau, Hayden Zillmer gained the 1-seed. Zillmer and Hancock have battled plenty of times so look for another one coming.

Smith Is The 2, And No Adam Coon
Olympian and multiple time World team member Robby Smith is the 2-seed behind Toby Erickson who won the U.S. Open in Vegas. Also of note, Adam Coon did not make the trip. Coon met Smith in the Olympic trials finals but was taking a redshirt during the college season and looks to still be taking time away from competition.
