After making the NCAA finals twice and falling short, Iowa's Cory Clark just wouldn't be denied the 133-pound title on Saturday in St. Louis. Check out his run to a national title.

Round Of 32

Cory Clark (Iowa) DEC Connor Schram (Stanford), 4-0
Connor Schram is a "tough out" in any round, but when Clark drew him right out of the gate it made everyone's eyebrows raise.

Round Of 16

Cory Clark (Iowa) DEC Pat D`arcy (Princeton), 10-5
When Clark took the mat on Thursday against Pat D'Arcy, it was very obvious that he was on a mission. The normally reserved Hawkeyes senior went on to score a 10-5 decision against the very game Princeton sophomore.

Quarterfinals

Cory Clark (Iowa) DEC Stevan Micic (Michigan), 6-4
Stevan Micic struck first, but like in most moments of his title run, Clark found a way to get the job done.

Semifinals

Cory Clark (Iowa) DEC Nathan Tomasello (Ohio St.), 6-4
Once again Clark gave up the first takedown, but he showed incredible grit in muscling out a 6-4 win over previously undefeated Nathan Tomasello.

Finals

Cory Clark (Iowa) DEC Seth Gross (South Dakota St.)
Can you imagine making it to the NCAA finals two other times, coming up short, and then getting taken down in the first period? Lucky for Clark he's been in the position before. In typical Clark fashion, he capitalized on small windows of opportunities when his opponent let up slightly and wrestled back to a one-point lead with just over a minute to go. If you are STILL looking for evidence of mental toughness in Clark, look no further than the last 81 seconds of his finals match below. He scrapes, claws, and latches onto anything that he possibly can to not allow Gross to escape to take it into overtime.
