The wrestling world is mourning the loss off Nick Roberts, a PA wrestling legend and current wrestler for the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.  Roberts passed away the evening of Saturday, February 25th.  Details around the death are still unknown.

The University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown put out the following release regarding the death of Nick Roberts.

A message from Pitt-Johnstown President Jem Spectar:

It is with great sadness that I share with you the loss of one of our university family, Nick Roberts. The death occurred earlier this evening in his room. The cause of death is not known at this time, but foul play is not suspected.

Nick is a senior in the class of 2017. We also know Nick as a standout member of our Mountain Cat wrestling team. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his parents, family, friends and loved ones.

More information will follow as it becomes available.

Roberts was a standout in PA who trained at the Young Guns Wrestling Club, lead by Jody Strittmatter, who put out the following tweet.

Current Young Guns standouts Gavin Teasdale and Cam Coy tweeted after learning of Nick's death.

Roberts spent time at Ohio State before making his way back to Pennsylvania where he would wrestle and win a National Title for Division II UPJ in 2016.  Roberts was honored on Senior Night just two weeks ago. A knee injury cut his senior season short.

Roberts' high school career had just about every achievement imaginable.  He was a three-time PA state champ, four-time Fargo champ and a two-time Junior World team member, having placed 5th in the world on one of those trips.

FloWrestling extends its condolences to Nick's family and those affected by his loss.
