Steve Mocco has been in the headlines on FloWrestling recently as the focus of the FloFilms series, MOCCO, which debuted this past Monday about the life of the legendary wrestler. While the two-time NCAA champion and former Olympian has already crafted a memorable legacy on the mat, Mocco's impact on the sport has also grown into a leadership role after he was elected president of Florida USA Wrestling this month.

Almost a year ago, Mocco started running wrestling practices on Sundays for local youth and high school wrestlers who were looking to pick up extra workouts in Florida, where he originally moved to begin an MMA career at the famed mixed martial arts gym American Top Team.

The more Mocco got involved with state's wrestling community, the more he wanted to help out. This past summer, he coached Team Florida at the Cadet Duals. His Sunday practices have also evolved into a full-time wrestling club, called simply Mocco Wrestling.

"After traveling around the world competing for Team USA, I am looking forward to sharing my wrestling knowledge with our members and bringing prominence to wrestling in Florida athletics," Mocco said of his new position with Florida USA Wrestling. "I am eager to give back to the sport that has provided so many opportunities in my life."

Mocco is a die-hard wrestler and is once again pouring his heart and soul into our sport, this time it's as a coach and administrator.

One look at Mocco's Instagram and it's easy to see that he is still very much involved with with sport of wrestling and its growth in Florida.

Episode one of MOCCO is available now. Episode two will air on Wednesday, October 26.

As we saw in episode one, Mocco grew up in New Jersey, went to Blair Academy, and then decided to go to Iowa. Episode two will take us from the start of his college wrestling career through his present day life.
