D1 News: Weight Changes And Redshirt Plans
The closer you get to the start of the season, the more info you get on weight changes, redshirts, and changes of plans. We've got a few substantial ones to report at this point. Also, 125-pound NCAA rankings will be released Monday morning.

Virginia Tech

While nothing will necessarily remain for perpetuity for the Hokies, there are a few changes in the lineup for Virginia Tech. Sophomore All-American Solomon Chishko will be up at 149 pounds this year with Sal Mastriani and Ryan Blees battling for 157. David McFadden, who is still recovering from surgery, is looking like a likely choice for a redshirt year. Chishko and Mastriani could potentially shift down in weight later in the year as they certified at weights below.

Chishko and Seth Gross scrapped last year at South Dakota State:

Virginia

A few interesting tidbits from coach Steve Garland's squad. The biggest piece being fifth-year senior George DiCamillo heading up to 141 pounds. DiCamillo has been a fixture of the top 10 at 133 for the last few years. He'll try to get on the podium at 141 this year. Additionally, Garland will be starting true freshmen Jack Mueller at 125 pounds and Micky Phillippi at 133. Both of these true freshmen come to UVA with incredible high school résumés.

Campbell

Another senior changing weights, Nathan Kraisser will be heading down to 125 after competing up at 133 the last two years. Kraisser had his deepest run at NCAAs down at 125. Campbell is looking for its first All-American in the program's history. Kraisser could be the man for the job.

South Dakota State

This news isn't exactly "new," as this may have been out there since the late spring, but Seth Gross is headed down to 133 pounds after competing last year at 141. Gross made the Junior World Team this year at 132.5 pounds and looked fantastic.

Gross had a shoot-out at Junior Worlds:

Rutgers

Anthony Giraldo will be competing up at 141 and 149 pounds this year after wrestling at 133 the last few years. Scott Delvecchio will be challenged by Tyson Dippery (yes, Dippery) at 133 pounds.

Indiana

It may not seem like real news to report that a guy is staying at the same weight, but Nate Jackson at Indiana will be staying put at 174. Nate is very large for this weight, which lead to speculation that he could head up to 184.

Jackson pushes Bo Nickal in the NCAA semis:
