Russia Will Wrestle In Rio, Lebedev Case Still Pending
The Russian Olympic Committee has announced their wrestling team will be able to compete in Rio. All 16 athletes submitted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have been cleared by the International Olympic Committee.

On July 28th, United World Wrestling issued a press release stating the members of the team would need to be reviewed by CAS before they could be cleared for Rio. That same press release indicated Viktor Lebdev would not be allowed to compete and that their 57kg quota had been revoked, meaning Russia would not be able to enter anyone at that weight.

A few days later, the IOC decided they would make the final ruling on all sports. Nenad Lalovic, the President of UWW, confirmed the 16-athlete roster submitted to UWW and the IOC will officially be competing in Rio. Lebedev has appealed to the CAS and that case is still pending; two Russian swimmers must be reviewed before anything can be released on Lebedev.
