Kyle Dake Out 4 Months With Injury
It will be a little while before we see Kyle Dake on the mats again.  Shortly after the Olympic Trials, Kyle Dake underwent surgery to repair his labrum as well as a bicep tendon.  Dake went into greater detail about the process on his website, KyleDake.com in his most recent blog post.

Injuries are nothing new for Kyle since graduating from Cornell.  It was a foot injury that kept  Dake off the mats for the 2014 trials.  He also has battled a shoulder injury as well as a broken hand.

The re-injury of that same shoulder occurred prior to the Olympic Trials.  It was only after the trials that Kyle learned that the extent of his injuries were far worse than he or the doctors originally thought.

With 4 months off, Dake is looking at a September return.  This should give Dake plenty of time to train, compete and prepare for making the 2017 World Team.  This Summer, Dake made the switch from 74kg to 86kg.  He has been 2nd in the World Team and Olympic Trials on three different occasions.  Twice losing to Jordan Burroughs at 74kg, and most recently falling to J'den Cox at 86kg.

Dake discussed wrestling World Champion Denis Tsargush with a broken hand.
