With college wrestling, there are absolutely no sure things. #1 Bo Nickal brought his undefeated record to Indiana for a match against #12 Nate Jackson of Indiana. He didn't leave with it.
#12 Nate Jackson won an absolutely wild bout against Bo Nickal. The match began as you'd expect. It was a beautiful throw by for Nickal for 2. Jackson earned an escape to make it 2-1. Bo immediately went double overs for a throw in the transition and got caught on his back for 6 to end the first. The period ended 6-2 Jackson.
In the 2nd Bo took bottom and earned an easy escape. Bo was on the attack the entire 2nd and earned a stall warning. Despite getting in deep he wasn't able to finish against Jackson. Jackson used his length well to prevent the finishes. In the 3rd it begins 6-3 Jackson who took neutral. Right away Bo goes bodylock for 2 to make it 6-5.
After an escape Bo continued to fire off attack after attack getting in deep on a single leg. Bo was so close to a finish on the edge the official briefly held up 2 before waving it off. It went to review where the call was upheld. Bo was down 2 late, continued to attack but couldn't but Jackson down for 2.
Jackson was hit for stalling late but it was irrelevant as Bo fell one point short. Jackson was the winner, 7-6.
