Wait, I don't understand. You say he's lucky because he had the stamina and skill to overcome a 6 point gap and win....twice. Then he wrestled two other kids and had the endurance, heart, and skill to win both of those in overtime, too. Then, in the finals, he managed to set up and execute a throw after being down by points to win it....
Why would you call that luck and not skill?
Throws are so hard to execute, most guys wont let you get it easily unless you set it up well, they're gassed out, or they just walked into it...
i wrestled earl all my 8th grade year and my freshman year and even trained with him in a camp. Hes a tuff and good wrestler, looking froward to wrestle against him at district duals.
"THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME LEFT FOR BACK POINTS, ONLY FOR TAKEDOWN POINTS. THEY CLEARLY SAY 10 SECONDS LEFT WHEN THEY WENT OUT OF BOUNDS, WHISTLE SOUNDS AT 8:33, VILLANUEVA HITS THE MAT AT 8:43, NO BACK POINTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO OVERTIME, CHECK IT OUT AND SEE."
If you look in the background you can see that there are exactly 12 seconds left so he should be able to get the two backpoints.
I only know Earl from county's last year and when he came to support Shiquan this year but I do know he is TOUGH! Man with 10 seconds left dang way to go!!!

HELLO PA.IL.NJ,OH,IN,VA ECT. FLORIDA DIDN'T JUST GIVE HIM THAT TITLE HE EARNED BY BEING A AWESOME TALENTED 9TH GRADE WRESTLER U SEE WHAT U ALL FAIL TO REAlIZE IS THAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT FLORIDA BABY U GUYS NEED TO BRING IT DOWN A NOTCH WHEN UR DAY COME TO BE BEAT DOWN BY A FLORIDIAN IN BLACK AND WHITE ON PAPER THEN YOU CAN VOICE UR OPINION ON WHO IS A TALENTED WRESTLER UNTIL THEN FALL BAQ AND GIVE MY CUZZO ALL THE CREDIT AND PROPS THAT HE EARNED AND DESERVE IN CASE UR COMPUTER FROZE UP HE WON IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS REGARDLESS OF HOW THE FIGHT STARTED AT THE END HE WAS THE CHAMP! HE IS THE FLORIDA STATE CHAMP BABEE 39/0 AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTER.THIS IS TO THE FLORIDA STATE CHAMP (MY LIL CUZZO)KEEP DOING YOU AND KEEP UR HEAD UP CHAMP ON UR QUEST 2 BE THE BEST LUV YA!
Well OH, it was about 22 years ago, but I did hit my jap wizzer on a stud ranked 5th in the country from Ohio (huge dude) and almost stuck him at the World team trials in Michigan-Nice Try. -CONN
i don't understand. this hall kid is by no means bad. he would beat nearly every other state champ across the country with the excption of some, like ohio, pa, ok, nj, ect. This wasn't the toughest bracket in the tournament but in no way should characterize all of florida wrestling in one match. comparing the number one ranked kid in the nation like steiber to hall is totally fair but why don't you do it to to the other thousands of 103's in america. I doubt ohio has any wrestlers that can hang with grajales or sentes but that doesn't make ohio any lesser of a wrestling state. besides I've seen olympic gold medal matches won with headlocks and other beginner moves so don't even begin that crap.
sorry bro CONN can't compare to OHIO in wrestling. I dont care what you did 25 years ago in high school. Earl did hit a great move at the end. However, Sako, Dujulis, Steiber, etc will not fall for some hillbilly double underhook toss. Its like getting pinned in the 3/4 nelson, it just doesn't happen to good wrestlers.
Keep whining you other states. I started wresting my freshman year in a Connecticut High School and still kicked the tar out of kids from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Virginia, Iowa and all over the U.S. and received a full scholarship to a Div. 1 top 20 team-Wilkes University (1986), P.A. Earl Hall is the real deal- a class act, I've seen him practice since he was a little kid. Stop being so full of yourselves. Earl has proven himself on the national level. When you see higher caliber wrestling what do you expect? You get low scoring usually. -Great Match Earl
Mark Grey is not nationally ranked and neither is Sorenson...and if you wanna watch real wrestling...come to OHIO...we have 3 of the top 12 103's in the nation, including Hunter Steiber, who would manhandle both of these kids.
Earl has beaten many nationally ranked kids including Mark Grey from New Jersey and Sorenson from Iowa. Florida wrestling may be a bit weaker than other states but this kid can go with the best. He has proven it. For the record, he is a bulked up 100 lbs.
yeah I think these guys would be sectional placers, maybe state qualifiers in most states. That schoolboy national champ x2 REALLY surprises me.
Check out Ohio, Penn, CA, NY
great finish, however many of these videos really expose these weaker wrestling states. Here in Ohio these two would have a real tough time making it to the state tourney let alone winning it.

This kid is a stud. I was at the match and the place erupted when he threw him. So many times you see kids look at the clock and know that they are down and not throw any kind of a real effort to a takedown. This kid went big with everything on the line. Nothing to lose at that point. I hope he wins 3 more titles. I will be there to watch everyone of them.
