refs need to break the hold with double legs in and hips off the mat after 10 seconds or so. its not an offensive position, he never was close to turning parks and its just a stalling tactic.

Look Sam, I'm a Winston guy and I hope he has the best wrestling career he can possibly have. It doesn't matter as much in freestyle but in college, mat wrestling is huge. Just watch this match, it was probably the difference.

what bottom work does Winston or Parks need to do?... I'd say they're both pretty solid... By the way, I'm from New Jersey also.

BOTH WERE OUT BEFORE THE TAKEDOWN WAS GIVEN.IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT OF BOUNDS.BUT SETH NEVER QUIT WRESTLING AN THAT IS WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE.SETH DID WELL BY TIEING HIM UP THUS LIMITING HIS SPEED.VERY GOOD MATCH

Who cares about the final TD. That ref was pitiful in the 3rd period. Make the guy do something!

Smith was mad that Jamal didn't get the reversal at the end(he should have been able to spin for 2)

That was a horrible call and this camera angle is perfect to make that call. Bad Call. Bad Ref. 30 Hail Marys for him.

That was out. The official was positioned too close to the wrestlers. If he was where he belonged he wouldn't have to glance forward to check for control and wouldn't have missed the foot leaving the cylinder.

The call was good!
Jamal should have stayed out of the collar tie and he would have dominated from his feet. He allowed seth to control his speed and keep close. Credit to Seth for finding how to harness that speed.

If you pause the video at the controversial sequence, you can see that his foot did leave the circle (and the virtual cylinder refered to) and was placed back in. However it was very quick and the ref had to glance forward to check for control of both legs. Technically a wrong call but well within human error. Parks should have never ended up in that position; he should have tried standing up instead of scooting out while on the mat.

He definitely pulls his foot out. He did not keep it the circle or even above the circle.

They were in a collar tie 80% of the time. Pathetic hand fighting

that was not out, the college wrestling rule that started last season says the mat circle is a verticle line. Even if your foot is in the air but in bounds, it counts!

he was off the mat, it was on the hardwood, which makes it out. but you can never stop wrestling

Just like Winston, I'd say Parks has some bottom work to do. But they are both pretty solid on their feet.
