Make the argument all you want that Strength isn't that important in wrestling, and here's proof once again that it is. Grey isn't strong enough to be a 141 pounder and the importance of lower and upper body strength is being demonstrated right here. Granted, he doesn't seem to have all of his heart into it either, but anyone who says it's all mental is only fooling themselves. In this particular case, Grey just plain isn't strong enough.
Grey is still Grey and he needs to work on getting out of legs. He is up a weight and guys have more powerful hips and leg turns. He almost was out but Davis was able to recover and use his strength to keep him over for the pin. Grey might be in a funk which all wrestlers experience at some point. Two matchs unable to get out of legs which should be a concern to work on. Grey will be fine and its not the start that counts but how you finish the race.
i still can not believe what i m seein ! i mean notin aganist the sacred heart kid but what is up with grey ?------is it the weight cuttin o what - he like 0-4 this year after losing in the first round of the consi of bar bar. holy cow he can't win a match at the body bar ? he's all american !
Has to make you wonder if he has the body for 141 - especially vs the ground and pound Big 10 guys - Grey has always excelled at cutting 133 is better...Has that been the plan all along when Nick goes to 25's...
Who's Chris Davis? Where did he go to HS? Where is Sacred Heart?
What an upset of NJ state 4xer Grey -- isn't he the recruit that started the p*ssing contest between Lehigh and Cornell?
The best part though was Davis just being cool about winning, no back flips or NFL-style touchdown celebrations, just acted like he expected to pin the #1 seed. Good for him.
He wrestled pretty good i thought. He just got caught. If he could have turned (hip heist) faster, it never would have happen. I thought the camera was going to leave those guys and follow sweetie pie in the green sweater! :)
