if u pause it when the towel boy hits the ref courts clearly has the reversal but the towel boy got up and looked like he was late and might have been late from the buzzer
either way great match
I paused the video at the exact moment Feilds went to his back and the time keeper did not hot the ref to say time was up yet. By rule the ref made the right call. I do think the second stalling call sending the match to over time was questionable. I will say the first one was correct and if Courts would have been more active on top he wouldn't have been hit with the first stalling call, so he can only blame himself for the overtime. Fields coach does a good job getting into the head of the ref's. Great match to watch.
Ryan might have acted like a complete idiot...BUT time did look like it was out....i may have not given the 1 escape.. as a ref... i believe when there is a close cal you let them wreslte which means over time...even though you cannot fix what happend....also being from ohio and beating ryan myslef.. he should be used to loosing the big match
fields is a joke im sorry to say he wins in overtime with headlocks and then goes nuts after the match...learn how to wrestle with some class...fields 4X runner up congrats
Spoke with this ref. He said he called the reversal because it happened before the tap. He then was confronted by the assistant who said he had the clock in view and that control was lost, but reversal was not complete. In a situation this close anyone attacking the official has a case of "SOUR GRAPES", so shut up. Please.
I used a stopwatch. If the video is actual speed, then it was going to be a controversial call either way. I got 30.1 seconds to the point where his head was completely clear. That close, it can't really be a bad call in my opinion.
Trying to clock it did seem like time was out. Fan, It was 23 seconds on the restart, but right before that they said 22 seconds left in the match. Can't blame the ref. He did a fine job during the match and he could only go by the tap. If you watch the tap, it is after Courts is out. About the only thing you complain about is the tap. That happens all the time in these types of tournaments and they wind up asking the table help which also doesn't have a clue.
That Ref is from South Carolina, and he is probably the worst we have, and TRUST we had some bad ones. He has no business ref-ing a national tourn. match.
ram56: this is not the tableworkers job. there is no reason for a worker to come out when they have 2 officials working the match. it is the mat judge's call and he looked to be right in line with the action and clock. bad stall call. i hate when guys dont committ to attacks and get stall calls with half shots.
On the final start there were 12 seconds left on the clock, check out the tapper, runs completely around the ring to try and tap the time. That's what you get when you have kids working tables.
Fields had that match, you could see the tapper not paying attention at the end. Fields was definately pushing the action in that match. Courts is very tough for a 14 year old freshman.
I like the style of field's wrestling. He's very aggressive, excellent snapdowns and has short bursts of explosion often. The true definition of "badass".
either way great match
fields had him
