yall don't even know what you're talkking about. michiel is amazingg
i grew up in the same gym as him andd he has workedd his ass of just as hard if not harder than everyone else. he'll definatley take state again next yearr.
haha If Kinsella wasint in jail then we wouldint be having this conversation. he could beat roberts and garrison, but seriously that was a beast throw by roberts, he earned the championship and case would have a hard time stopping him.
most kids would'nt go for that throw at a state tournament
but roberts has the balls to make it and complet that kind of throw
michiel would beat any 125lbs kid from ohio texas is a big state for wrestling and michiel is one of the best he has heart and courage and balls wrestling is his life.... Mikey Chavez
chill wit the talking. roberts did his thing . he is a good wrestler and all of you need to chill. now if he was in new jersey it would be a different story with the state title but he is still a good wrestler

well michiel is basicaly a badass ive know him my whole life and he worked his ass off for this anybody that tries to dought him is just jealous cause there not state champs 3030
I have watched Michiel since he was kid and the difference with him (and I have watcehd 2 generations of wrestlers) is he thinks. He concentrates and stays focused--Now he has the strength as well. Thus a state champion. It is easy to criticize when you are not the state champion--and Texas is one BIG state!! Go Michiel!!
Ha. hell yeah. that caught me off gaured. i give him mad props for hitting that on me. he wrestled better so he gets to call himself a state champ. props man. see you next year in the finals
That "funky" throw wasnt even that funky. It was a freestyle throw and isnt very risky if you know how to wrestle freestyle. I give him props on that throw. Good move.
tha man i disagree you have pointed out a few exceptions to the general rule. the rest of the top ranked guys have wrestled twice as long as anyone else
Dave Thomas said: While there are exceptions to all the rules. Your statement just doesn't hold up. Generally speaking the kids with the most experience (mat time) are the better wrestlers.
That usually never holds. The more important factor is the coaching, not mat time. Jamill Kelley started wrestling as a freshman in high school. Another Texas wrestler, Justin Wren, didn't start until highschool either. And looking outiside of Texas, Max Huntley, the #2 ranked 189 pounder in the country, also started as a freshman. Mat time is minimal. Work ethic and coaching are huge
That "funky throw" wasn't lucky. It was a display off great wrestling and perfect timing. He knew this move was risky, and still did not hesitate. He had confidence in his stuff. That is what it takes to be a State Champion.
How do you not give ekster props here, he made the texas state finals as a sophmore, and could have won the match if roberts hadnt had gotten lucky with a funky throw.

just because you say you have wrestled twice as long as anybody does not make you better.

If Garrison wasnt in preps, he would dominate the 125lb. weight class in Texas.
