To Red: Yes, Marable can score on good people. Take your boy Lewnes for example. I'm pretty sure Marable has taken him down a few times off some good shots.

Mike: Bastings stalled by goimg to an underhook, russian tie, and backing up the whole time to avoid bonus points. I will say though, it was a smart strategy. Too bad he lost...

Dont know alot about College wrestling yet, but to me it looked like John was the aggressor here. For Marable to be 7th and not doing squat other than pushing if and away. He had opps for shots and backed for some reason. In theory shouldn't this guy have been able to steam roll Bastings? Not the case the almost shots were barely half attempts in my opinion... Nice work John.

Doing nothing but defending shots for seven minutes--that's the definition of STALLING.

Your info on Lewnes is incorrect. He was definitely injured.

I have really lost a lot of respect for Cornell, the only reason they kept Lewnes out of the line up was so he could keep his number one seed. I would have loved to see him wrestle Marable again

Basting had a great shot at :50, foot sweep at 2:25 as just a couple of examples of offensive wrestling. All of Marable's shots were faux shots that resulted in him tying up leading to simply pushing Basting around the mat. Shots don't come cheap for backups vs top 10 opponents.

From what I saw, the question is can Marable really shoot on anyone good?

Okay...Basting had ONE shot and it came with approx. 1 min. left in the match, he had 1 stall warning. Ridiculous. It was apparent from the start Basting's job was to: 1. Not get majored 2. Stall to give himself an opportunity at the end...the official let him get away with it.
