I'm wondering about that last second escape also.

When was Gutches neutral? Was it when Ortiz wrapped his arms around Gutches' legs?
And when was he neutral beyond reaction time?

Definitely NOT an escape! Goes to show that 2 Refs don't make a right. Good win for Ortiz, good match by both.

that was eric stevenson there on the right in the newberg wrestling shirt. Former oregon state star/newberg hs star.

You've got to love the way Ortiz was completely unfazed by ref's decision to extend the match to overtime. Just put the ankle band back on and went back to work. No big deal.
