I love it when a guy tells you that he will repeat as champ and then goes in and gets the job done. Even when many doubted he still never waivered J. Jaggers is a true champion. I would like to point out that I didn't doubt that this would happen if you look at the posts under the Lashaway match I predicted that he would make good on his word. I will miss the excitement that J brings to the home matches next year! Good Luck in all you do!

never saw him winning it again but he did it. kinda weird that he did so terrible at the beginning but pulled it off. i really don't like it cause it makes some kids think they just have to wrestle at the qualifier and ncaa but they wont be ready like he can. it's truly a rare thing. anyways he did great. need to review how he locked up that cradle in the semis; pretty impressive to hit that on a tough kid

I have to admit, I was skeptical about Jaggers repeating. I thought that he had just put together a good tournament last season and with some of his losses at the beginning of this year, I thought that he may not even make AA. Man was I wrong. What a great tournament and what a great wrestler. Congrats!

Just curious what Heskett's role is in the room? Can he work out with the athletes? Just wondering because of his heart condition.

man Jaggers was one of the most entertaining wrestler in that tourney he wnet out there and cud cradle people from his back he just didnt take from anyone he stuck with his game plan and it worked he really turned the corner though he had to cut weight he improved so much from last year i knew he was gonna be at least a finalist being ranked number 10 or 13 before big ten but i didnt know he was gonna dominate through congratulations Jaggers on a successful career and path of being a 2x champ good luck in the future

The neat thing about Jaggers for us older fans of the sport is that he makes wrestling exciting and fun to watch. The style of college wrestling has changed so much from when I was young. The typical match is a couple escapes, and one takedown wins it. Lots of edge of mat takedowns because guys no longer bang away in the center of the mat. It is nice to see someone with a wide open pinning style like Jaggers. That cradle is wicked.

Regarding my tan, I would like to say that it is an overall team effort. If you have not noticed we are all buff and have manly tans. Pucillo, Palmer, Humphrey, C Spons, and me tan religiously.

J Jaggers is a good wrestler but watch out for Kellen Russle
reply

Ohio   March 24 at 10:04am
Kellen is a better wrestler? Really then why has he failed to be the "better wrestler" given two shots at it. Maybe he will be the better wrestler, but in my opinion the better wrestler is the 2 x National Champ.

I told all my buddies this story win I picked him to win the title again this year. When he was in high school, he went out to the dream team classic in California and got has @ss handed to him by Tiripelle. Two weeks later, (when it mattered) he straight dominated him at the senior nationals taking him down a few times and then sticking him. It was like Tirepelle didn't know what hit him. When he wants it, he is very nasty!

Love his approach to the sport, love his approach to competition, wish him the best in everything. He truly does have fun wrestling and he has since we were kids; does he train harder than everyone? Maybe now, but he didn't when we were little. He just never let competing get into his head and tried to score points while staying comfortable in scrambles and close-calls. Also, of all the elite NE Ohio wrestlers, he is one of the few who isn't a y bastard who has a legitimate sense of humor. Pucillo is an arrogant c*cksucker who deserved to lose; J is a personable dude who knows when to pull it together in a crucial situation.

June 2, 2009

Throughout the year many people were calling J Jaggers first NCAA title a fluke and for part of the year Jaggers was ranked outside the top ten nationally.
