I think Metcalf would win their next matchup. Metclaf in control and throttle down. It would be a completly different match. This is probably why DC is redshirting and will move up a weight.

because he says he wants to get stronger in the weight room and bump up a weight class or two for the following year but after that all of the good wrestlers will be gone around him and he will prolly win it no problem i bet metcalf is pissed but who cares i hate that little spaz he gets in everyones face when wrestling and its the iowa mentality well the dc mentality is to whoop whoever is in the way. go dc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to quote a few people....

"I hope you mean at another weight or in another year, because Brent Metcalf is still wrestling, and I don't think he is going to release his death grip on the 149 weight class anytime soon. Caldwell beating Metcalf last year was a fluke, and Metcalf showed this year what happens when he doesn't get screwed by a BS call.
Metcalf has only gotten better and stronger. Good luck to Caldwell, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll be winning NCAAs this season."
"I think it is fairly obvious who is the best:
Metcalf - NCAA champion, Hodge Trophy winner, MOW at Big Ten's and national tournament, only loss a bad call to Caldwell
Caldwell - 5th at NCAAs, got killed by Metcalf this year in the rematch
You can get caught in a pin, you can't get caught in a tech."
"If Caldwell can't catch Metcalf in the first period, he can't keep up with Metcalf. Brent gets stronger as the match goes on. Caldwell won't have much confidence going into another match with Metcalf."
"what happened to metcalf was a fluke he proved it by teching cadwell a pin can be a fluke a tech almost isn't"
"there is no way anyone is going to beat metcalf at the ncaas give it up pins can be flukes techs cant"
"metcalf will dominate this weight class"
this is probably what darrion caldwell would like to say to you all..."how my ass taste"

Zeke Jones- Silver Medalist, & Metcalf. So many others I have not remembered. to mention here.

So if you want to measure a states wrestling worth from the great college wrestlers that came out of it... than Michigan is clearly the best.

But we'll see what happens again when NCAAs come around. The match i really want to see is Caldwell vs Bubba Jenkins, now that'll be the match.

Yes, I agree folks. Caldwell is such a nice sweet gentleman helping up his opponent after sticking him, how wonderfully beautiful that moment was that it brought tears to my eyes. In fact, a country musical thought has come to my mind and I must write it: The tears on my keyboard, are from Caldwell being so nice. Shower Caldwell with silver, and sticking Palmer will suffice.

Secondly, it is wonderful to see Palmer get pinned as he is one of those "holdbacks", clearly out of the usual college age group of his opponents so I always applaud when cheaters get hammered for a change instead of hammering guys who are 3-6 younger themselves separated only by a grade or two in school. Now back to my musical song and tears for the beautiful sportsmanship.

dude whats so amazing is he didnt get caught... he started from the referees position and got cranked over. Its not like he got stuck with a headlock, he got powered over and pinned. Thats what makes this so impressive. Not saying caldwell necessarily pins him again if they meet but you cant say he "got caught"

Still can't believe Caldwell got teched by Metcalf, but I couldn't believe Caldwell pinned Metcalf last year in a minute.

Palmer is great, he just happened to get caught here. but take nothing away from Caldwell, as long as he doesn't make a last second mistake like he did against Bubba Jenkins last year at NCAA's Semi's....we could see a Metcalf-Caldwell rematch for the TITLE.....
Let's Go Darrion!!!!!!!
