Caldwell deserves the win here but it could possibly have gone to metcalf if he would have wrestled at the level we know he is capable of! In one of the most shocking upsets in DI NCAA Wrestling history, Darrion Caldwell defeats Brent Metcalf for the 149 Pound title at the 2009 NCAA Championships. Coming into the match, Metcalf had a 69 match win streak and a 72-1 Collegiate record, his only loss coming to Caldwell early in the previous season in 2007.
