He was losing when he got pinned, im pretty sure by like 10
Are you the real Gable? Or just A Dan?
Hoping to see this match up!!!!
This kid is not a top college or even ohio high school wrestler. His opponent was far from worthy. David Taylor will beat this kid
P.S. Whoever said Grajales gasses out is an idiot he's running with a full tank in this match Umlauf didn't even phase Grajales.
hes still one of the best but is still human
Before anyone writes some garbage here, perhaps they should do a Google search on Grajales and see what comes up.
Look for big things from Grajales in college.
eric grajales vs david taylor
and anthony baldosaro vs eric grajales and andrew alton thank you
umlaufs got heart and pride for putting up a fight but hes not as his level
but its ok cuz i dont think he pretends to be or anything like that
Please refrain from using logic and analysis. This board is reserved for irrational, inflammatory posts designed for an emotional response. Please adhere to these guidelines in the future.
Here's a good example:
Eric has never beaten anyone good. Until he beats Cael Sanderson, he doesn't deserve to be talked about on the national level.
Yes hes a great high school wrestler (in florida where they preach cowboys and standing cement mixers). If this kid wrestled in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or NY, he would get his clock cleaned
Grajales will do well in College. People who know him are excited about what he could potentially do when he gets to Michigan and has a practice room full of guys who can push him far more than 99% of the high school opponents he's had have done.
Then, the Big 10 competition will further cause him to elevate his game. There's no doubt that Eric is in for some hard knocks at the hands of older, more seasoned college wrestlers. But, if anyone is capable of making the transition to the next level, he is.
One way or another, we're all going to find out how good a D1 wrestler Eric will be. But there's no doubt that he's an exceptionally dominant high school wrestler at this point.
Oliver > Grajales
Taylor > Grajales
ReAlitT Check:
ERIC GAJALES IS THE REAL DEAL
NO HS WRESTLER WILL "SCHOOL" HIM AS SOMEONE SUGGESTED
AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, I THOUGT TAYLOR/ALTONS WERE THE ONLY ONES CAPABLE OF COMPETING WITH HIM(STILL DO)
NOT LIKING HIS STYLE/ATTITUDE DOES NOT EQUATE TO HATE
ERIC WILL NEED TO MATURE IN TERMS OF HIS EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PUSHING/SHOVING, SLAPPING, SLAMMING KIDS WHEN HE IS FRUSTRATED(he and his coaches almost bought a good ol fashioned arse whoppin in alabama last year when he slammed a kid out of bounds when it was evident he would not pin him, contrary to what ESPN reported, he did not pin this kid)
BTW, if you want to be taken seriously as a writer/reporter, you may want to refrain from using juvenile terms such as "raping kids" when referring to the accomplishments of Taylor in relation to him beating opponents on Flo

(vestavia hills last year he and his coaches almost bought an ass whoppin in good ol alabama for slamming a kid out of bounds that he couldn't pin, contrary to what the ESPN story stated, he didn't pin this kid"

everyone can say all they want about how such and such would school eric and erics just muscling them around he sucks blah blah blah but no one can refute that eric qualified for the 2008 OLYMPIC TRIALS as a junior. please, someone else say he sucks and point to another junior in high school that went to the trials. please, I'm waiting
(He had riding time on both Kindig and Alton at the East Stroudsburg Open)
Oliver has never escaped from Eric! and Oliver is a damn good bottom wrestler.
He should pin the kid? Why? Like was said earlier, this isn't some first-year kid, THIS IS A FELLOW D-1 RECRUIT! And guess what, wrestling has a mercy rule! Also, he did TRY to pin the kid... Listen to his coaches, they kept saying "GO BACK TO IT" after he hit that first underhook hip-toss. But Umlauf, literally, fell to his belly rather than try to defend (and ultimately get thrown to his back)
Eric has a tremendous gas tank, and if you don't believe it, ask the guys he wrestled at fargo, after he got 16 matches over the course of 4 days, and made weight 4 times!
It's obvious you guys don't pay attention, because if you watch metcalf, guess what? He's BREATHING HEAVY during his matches. It's not that he's in bad shape, we all know he isn't, but when you beating the mess out of someone and imposing your will the entire match, your body gets tired. That's a physiological fact. It's the best wrestlers who push past that, and continue to wrestle as if it doesn't matter.
Not happening. Dutton's pretty good, and I've seen them both wrestle. Grajales is head and shoulders on another level than Dutton is right now. Dutton will be very good, he's already good, but still a lot of time to improve. Not exactly the most "impressive" of takedown displays I've seen from him, but when you outclass someone, you just outclass them.
He has no class.
He's out of shape.
He's sloppy.
His technique will not work in college.
He should quit the sport immediately!
It's clear that Grajales is conducting a takedown clinic on his opponent and that's got to be somewhat tiring!
I doubt if this kid gets his clock cleaned in D1. I don't think anyone believes he can step in and beat the top guys right now, but it is clear he has D1 potential - much more of it than most D1 recruits.
Give the kid a break - he's won just about anything there is to win on the national level and a major program has granted him a full ride. How anyone can doubt this kid has serious talent is beyond me.
Get a life...haters!
