taylor said he wanted to wrestle him at sr. nationals, well guess what, DAVID TAYLOR BTICHED OUT.
theres no doubt that he's a good wrestler, but honestly, grajales has him beat
and to everyone sayin "eric is good in florida"
incase you didnt know nationals is THE NATION, not ONLY florida!
and eric won it 4 times already, so please tell me, how is eric a
are you going to a div. 1 school for wrestling?
if not leave grajales alone, the guys worked har dand deserves alittle credit.
and i've watched him wreslte.. he does kids nasty lol. like that kid in the state finals last year...
That means last year when he was undefeated that most of the wrestlers were his age or younger with a few being older.
That means that when he won a college open up a weight class from his normal weight that he was the same age as some of the wrestlers in his bracket, but younger than most.
That means that every USA age title that he has ever won, he was within the age requirements and had no advantage.
That means that he wrestled in Sr level events such as the olympic trials as one of the youngest wrestlers in the tournament.
He has wrestled older and younger wrestlers. I could see the argument if he constantly wrestled younger, however he continues to wrestle up to get competition. Grajales takes on all comers young and old...and he wins almost all of them. If he can make 133 next season, he will be in the mix for a national title.
he did win FL states a bunch of times and has Fargo titles.
its not like hes only winning cause hes old. i promise he does well in college next year.
We will give him his due after he beats Dan Gable when Gable was in his prime. Until then....
I'm sure you guys have an illogical argument for everything...well the college guys weren't elite multi-time NCAA champs, well the kids in his age bracket at USA tournaments weren't very good, it was a weak weight class, the elite wrestlers that he beat were sick/cut too much weight/don't care about off season match results. Can you think of any other good excuses? I know you have them lined up and I would like to hear them.
I'm curious what it is you expect from this guy. Ridiculous I tell you.
Florida allows 8th graders on varsity. Therefore, quite possible for him to wrestle a 13 yo.
I agree there seems to be a trend to holding kids back for athletic puposes esp at particular HS such as Brandon. Neverless, it is a huge advantage to be 2 years older at the HS level. When Eric WAS wrestling kids his own age he was not 135 he was 112 and below.
There is a difference, but then again, isn't the "average" HS senior nowadays drifting more towards 18 than it is 17 anyway? I was 17, but most of my class as 18 and some 19. Especially with athletes, it seems they (ALL) are older than traditional non-athletes.
For every 17-year-old senior Grajales wrestles, there's three 18-19 year olds he'll wrestle.
How about judging his success compared to people close enough to wrestle him in age in high school (17-18-19) and stop throwing out absurd things like (SIX) years older.
That's crap. Eric's a good kid.
Reality = FULL RIDE TO MICHIGAN for Grajalles.
Michigan's coach must be stupid to give this guy a ride, cuz smart guys here know he doesn't know how to wrestle, he's out of shape, he looks sloppy, he didn't win the Beast.....BLAH...BLAH....BLAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
Brandon also looked very good. There's no doubt they are a top 20 or higher program. After seeing their kids wrestle it's obvious that they'd be a dominant force here in Wisconsin and I suspect in many states. It's time for us to face reality - these kids are for real and they deserve our respect.
One more thing - I personally saw several "older" wrestlers from some Wisconsin schools and it was rumored that a few kids on some of the out of state schools had some "redshirts" as well. Let's be fair when we bring up the age thing!
Congrats to Eric - I look forward to seeing him compete on the next level!
make up anything you want but hes a great kid in a powerhouse program. and qualifying for the Olympic Trials after your Jr. year is no small accomplishments. congrats man best of luck to you but i doubt you wont need it
Grajales can not and will not own David Taylor. Ever.
-cus he'll own all of them
Your'e 21 right? Wht don't you act your age. I bet Eric can still put you in a Leg cradle.
19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the great work Eric!!! You got a fan in Wisconsin.
Many kids turn 18 during their sr. year. This is normal. If you are held back for 1 yr., whether academically, socially, athletically, by parents choice, by school's choice or by some act of God, you would be turning 19 your sr. year....as it appears Eric is.
I don't know any of the details related to his situation...I don't even know if that's his real birthday as I don't care. Is it really that big of a deal? I just hate that you can't read anything about him without people trying to throw asterisks all over it. He's been beating quality guys for a long time in a lot of age brackets. Can we give it a rest?
