Its not his skill we dislike, it's the image he's fostered. He acts more like an NFL reciever and less like a wrestler. He screams "notice me" which seems to go against what wrestling stands for. Respect.

rocks, repost what? Maybe peole are taking my post out of contexts. my point is this: Erase the name, and plug in any recent 2x ncaa champ. Have some respect, and give them a shot at success. My point is we should encourage more wrestlers to continue. It is a lot easier to win in college and say I am done. Name re-inserted. Joe has chosen to accept a challenge, I never said where he would end up at the end of the qualifiers, but after watching him wrestler for years, you have to give him a shot.

Why is this guy, making such a big fuss about coming back onto the wrestling scene. Doesn't he realize that about 5 good college wrestlers a season come back out for freestyle after college? He must think he is something special. . .

This guy needs to strut around less after he wins. He may think it looks cool, but it makes him look like a dork. It's hard to respect him, no matter what he accomplishes.

A 2x National Champ in college, what's funny is that people actually think that college wrestling is comparable to freestyle in skill level. This may be a crazy thought, but college wrestlers aren't very good compared to freestyle wrestlers. That's in the US. Other countries make our college wrestlers look like little babies. It's sad but true. Joe is just one more little baby that has been pumped up enough to believe he has a shot in a sport that he believes is just about "pushing people around". How sad, because the only way he would have been able to make such a huge jump in skill level is by growing a brain, and it looks like that's not what he is planning on. Confidence doesn't make you magical, it just allows you to perform your best. His best is worse than the average guy that wrestles from another country. He is right in that he will be competitive, but only with the bottom ranked guys from the US circuit. This kid definitely isn't going to be winning the olympics anytime soon thinking the way he does. They guy just needs humbled, that's all, and then maybe he will be able to progress, but as long as he keeps his head firmly up his rear, he'll have a hard time moving forward.

Maybe not smelled, but definately tasted. By the way a LOT of sports have a great amount of respect. It just seems to me that wrestlers have little respect for one another. If wrestlers do not have respect for what they are doing and who they compete against, than how the hell is anyone else suppose to respect the sport?

He looks like he weighs 165, He is crazy, he won't even make the team..... The negative people are those you have obviously never smelled success. You only win through chats and blogs. Why would anyone doubt that a 2x National champ has a chance, or one step further say he will get spanked. The problem with our country at every level of athletics is that there is no respect. Bottom line Joe is real good, if he gets his mind set he has a shot, He has already proven that he is mentally tough, a lot more that names mentioned on this response. He is definetely strong, and athletic. is he the most technical? No. But ask all the guys on the ladder who they do not want to face and I guarantee his name pops up a lot. He will leave everything on the mat and probably suprise a few peolple on the way. Good luck Joe!!!!!!

Joe is the man. I think it's pretty funny that he has been proving you retards wrong his entire wrestling career. Since when is it wrong to be a little cocky and confident in wrestling? Would you guys be happy if he said something like, "Oh, what a fabulous honor it will be for me to compete against guys like Henry Cujudo and Matt Azevedo in my quest for the olympics." All the guy said was too watch out and that the freestyle rules are perfect for his style. Last time I checked, Nick Simmons was 2nd on the freestyle ladder. How many times did Simmons win nationals while Joe was there? Oh that's right, Simmons never won nationals.

yep, just push people around..it's that easy. He doesn't have enough respect for ALL the guys way above him. This isn't really even worth debating it's such a joke. When push comes to shove, and he realizes how out of his league he is, i bet he'll come up with some "knee" injury or something to duck out of it....if he's smart.

You have to have a levelo of respect for your opponents and this joker doesn't have any. I have watched his matches, and if that is the best that he can muster then it falls short. Being as cocky as he is is going to get him in trouble. Plain and simple. You have to be a little humble. Look at what happened when Cejudo said he was the future of wrestling.

I don't think he is being too cocky. I think you need it at that level. I mean just look at what homeboy below wrote about him.

I mean when someone writes something like that about you, you have to be a little cocky to take it in stride. Not like Funny Joke down there has ever gone out for an olympic team. To know what it takes is to take unfounded critics like that.

Just saying that if your not in your corner all the way, then maybe no one will be. I am glad to see him coming back. I just wish those Joe D. videos were back on YouTube!

1) Does this kid realize that IV-ing back to life is no longer allowed?
2) If by some miracle he does make the weight, he's in for one rude and embarassing awakening. He will be bent over Azevedo, Simmons, Martinez, or Cejudo's knee (perhaps all 4) and spanked like a little girl. Then again, I take that back. Probably any random guy in the top 20 could do that.
3) If he did make it to the olympics a complete lack of technique would embarass this country to the point where we may never be able to send wrestlers there again.
5)Any foreign wrestler on the planet would tear this guy to pieces. So tell me, why does this kid want to go to the Olympics? To immortalize himself as a bad wrestler on International TV?
6)If he can't make weight and has to wrestle 132, he probably shouldn't compete. I mean look at Nickerson, getting easily crushed by like #6 on the rankings Zach Roberson. Roberson didn't seem to even break a sweat.
Sorry Jersey Joe, but I mean, come on, someone has to be honest with you here. I have to give you some respect for your courage though. Good luck, and I'll be cheering for you!
